I stayed there with a colleague for a business trip. We were surprised by our agent's selection as this is not a typical business hotel but more of a resort. Several pools spread across the grounds and every facility is in a different building (restaurant, shop, reception, laundry). I guess its good for families who stay by the pool with the kids or go to the nearby lake. Rooms are large and clean. We had to ask reception to get them serviced (is it not normally done every day??). The restaurant was disappointing - small and little selection. But there are restaurants a short taxi ride away.

The room, swimming pools and building is great and clean. But the management, reservation and guest services is awful. We were a big group of 40+ people and it took 4 hours from 18:00 to 22:00 to check in everybody. Don't go unless they change their administration.

I choose this hotel for a tour with 40 people from 6 different countries last week. The reservation was made more than month ago and our arrival and check inn was a nightmare. Their reservation system and management is horrible and irresponsible. It took from 17:30 to 22:30 to get rooms for all the people in my group and nobody took responsibility or try to ease the process. Awful experience, don't go to this place until they have new management.

Good option to stay in Brasilia. Near National Congress and all tourist hotspots. Also great restaurant options nearby, such as: espeto, ki muqueca, etc. There a convenience store at the hotel as well, a bit pricey but if you don’t have the time to go to a drugstore or market it’s ok! There are 2 swimming pools and a great view of Paranoa lake.

First it is important to state that my review refers to an apartment in bloc 9 that was rented directly to the owner even if the facilities are part of the complex and the services were provided by the hotel. First the overall complex is rather nice and appears to be well maintained. Regrettably, the surrounding space is in pitiful condition: between the complex and the lake you have construction site (presumably an extension of the The Sun given the design similarities) apparently stopped. for quite some time. On the other side of the street there is Waterpark and further down a space used for shows and night events. The problem is that all this is poorly maintained and looks pretty ugly. In the facilities itself there is a small convenience store (which is quite welcome since there is very little alternatives around) and a restaurant. My experience with the restaurant was ok for the breakfast but really negative for a normal meal - expensive and poor quality - my wife asked for a steak which was uneatable and my "file mignon" was also quite poor quality. The apartment was at the ground floor and had probably the smallest bathroom that I've seen in a hotel - excluding the shower it should be about 1.2 x 1.5 meters and in that space you till have to include the toilet. The maintenance of the apartment was rather random - replacement of towels and sheets was left behind sometimes for more than a week, then we've got only half replacement (they explained that they did not have enough spares). While the place without being especially attractive could have a slim chance the poor management of the hotel aspects make me give a negative score.

Response from thesunbrasilia, Gerente geral at Hotel The Sun

We appreciate your feedback. The outside of the apartment is our responsibility. The block next to the lake is not working yet. The apartment that you rented has not hotel services, we don’t have management about it. Best regards, Cida Alves - General Manager
