I stayed here with 2 girlfriends during Carnaval for 3 nights and we had a wonderful stay. We were initially a bit nervous about the safety of the area based on previous reviews but felt quite comfortable in the area although it may have been busier due to Carnaval. We took cabs home when coming back late from Barra and...

My husband and I were greeted and taken to our room at the 3rd level of the pousada (no elevator, only stairs). We carried our own 23 kg bags up the stairs because we felt bad and didn't want the host to carry our heavy luggage up the stairs. The pousada is adorable and our room was large and had...

There is no beach around it, but once you enter the Inn you get surprised with all the fruit trees, flowers and different plants inside this old building. We stayed for a couple of night and we had a great time. The area looks a little sketchy, but is a just a residential area. Very close to Pelourinho, the inn...

The GOOD: owner Hans Bonisch and staff are friendly, but most of staff do not speak English. The main property (see "room tips" below) is a house with lots of personal antiques, belongings that made for interesting atmosphere. The BELOW AVERAGE: rooms are bare, bedding is a joke. THE BAD: location. As other reviewers wrote, it is 5 minutes to...

Stayed here with my husband during the Brazil 2014 World Cup. The main reason to pick this place was the location because it is very near from the Arena Fonte Nova where the matches took place and walking distance from Pelourinho (the historic centre). I was worried about some of the reviews posted in here mainly regarding the security of...

Friendly and helpful german owner. The Hotel is only 5 minutes from the old town away. The relation between Price and benefit is okay. The Hotel is not sterile because it has an historical style. During the night it is better to choose a taxi.

First of all - I was travelling with another male friend and we came to Brazil to watch the 2014 World Cup. The trip was one of which we could get away, watch some football, socialise and do some sightseeing and enjoy the atmosphere. The Pousada was local to the stadium where the games were played and more importantly, at...

First of all, this is not a hotel, nor a bed and breakfast, this is a hostel. Here is a list of additional concerns we had regarding this place: 1) We have strong reason to believe we were staying in someone's apartment. It had photos, drawers packed with clothing, and even personal hygiene items in the shower. 2) Our room...

We liked especially the city tour guided by the hostel owner Hans. The hostel is situated near the historic center and it's easy to get taxi or bus to all directions. When I needed special attention because of a dog bite Hans helped me transfering imeadetly to a hospital. In the evening he prepared a delicious noodle dish for me...

We had a wonderful stay at Pousada Barroco na Bahia. It was a delightful place, very barroco nice decorated, rooms and bathrooms were very clean. We stay at Aida, the room need two small side table and lamps. The old mango tree at the central part of the patio was our beloved place. Staff were incredibly hospitable and went above...

“There are 2 properties in the hotel, across street from each other. There is the main house and then an apartment building across from it. We stayed at the apartment building, which comprises maybe 3-4 rooms per floor (no elevators). They don't lock the door to the outdoor space on the roof.”
