I look for three things in a place to stay -- location, cleanliness and value. This is located just up the road from the historical center -- which for me is great because it ensures quiet. It was clean. There was a terrace you could sit in if you liked. And for what I paid it was well worth it....

We stayed here at the beginning of our trip. They offer airport transfer for 100 reais. It was conveniently located near the pelourinho. Great wifi. The rooms were nice. AC was dicey at times but overall excellent stay. Breakfast was basic. The staff was very nice.

Beautiful old colonial building, in a great location in fantastic Salvador. 5 - 10 minutes to Pelourinho area (which is amazing!), with a couple if nice bars in between. We didn't feel any sense of threat even when walking back late - it's generally a fairly busy street even at night, and there's a very cool bar opposite. We had...

Gorgeous 17th-century colonial building in the heart of the Old Town. Loved the character and charm of the place- even the room keys are vintage. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and definitely sufficient. Friendly staff and clean accommodations. We loved walking the old cobblestone streets at night and stopping in restaurants and bars to sample the...

We took a family trip to Salvador and 13 of us stayed at the Pousada Colonial. It was great as we were able to see all the different styles of rooms in the hotel, each with its own charm. The actual hotel was very big with lots of areas to relax in and explore. I would definitely recommend a room...

We stayed with a family of four in their Master bedroom on top of the Pousada overlooking the harbor. I guess that's the best room they have and definitely worth the money. It ranges over two floors with one bedroom on each floor. Be aware that you have to carry your suitcases up two flights to get there ( we...

The lobby, sittinig areas and rooms were clean, colorful and nicely decorated. Location was close enough to walk into...

We were really excited to stay here based upon some great reviews and the photos of the building on here. The taxi drive to the location made us nervous of our choice of hotel, and we made sure not to venture off the beaten track in this area. The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. One of the staff...

I stayed here with my husband and young son. We had a nice big room that overlooked the harbor. We liked the location as its a scenic 10 minute walk from the main tourist square, with some good restaurants and bars in between. The staff was very nice and the manager and her assistant were super helpful with arranging travel...

If you want to experience Salvador like a local this Pousada is way to go. Dian and Sandro are absolutely the best host along with the staff. Great local restaurants nearby. Fantastic cost and value. Even though the pousada is a small one from the outside, inside it is more than large enough. Several really great restaurants within walking distance...
