I can't say enough about this pousada. But all of the friends I met in Barra and I showed the pousada to were instantly jealous. For Carnaval the location is perfectly placed in the midst of all the action. The staff was very helpful and incredibly friendly. I even brought my Macintosh lap top to take advantage of the wireless...

This Pousada was excellent. It looked good from the direct website and was. The staff were great, the room lovely and the breakfasts were excellent (with some additional surprise every day like fried local cheese). The beaches around the area are not the best but being on the coast road the buses are plentifull and there are also some fabulouse...

This is a B&B, not a 5 star hotel (and it doesnt claim to be )but the place is clean and comfortable, the breakfast was very good and all the staff are friendly. On first looks the location, we felt, may have been a bit scruffy however after visiting pelichorinio (excuse the spelling) which was lovely, but we would have...

My fiance & I prior to staying at Estrela do Mar stayed in a wonderful pousada on Morro de Sao Paulo (Pousada Natureza...absolutely beautiful). We searched for an equally nice hotel to stay in on the mainland in Salvador. We were drawn to Estrela by their wonderful website. Upon arrival, we realized that the rooms posted on the website were...

This guesthouse is FAB and I really feel that staying here added so much to our experience in Brazil. The owner Sean was always on hand to suggest activities and some of these suggestions ended up being the highlight of our holiday! The guesthouse itself is great, lovely, clean, comfortable, central and very reasonably priced. If I ever make it...

I stayed at Estrela do Mar for 10 nights in Nov and Dec (just returned). The pousada has a great location two short blocks to the beach, a couple of minutes to the bus stop for your trip into the old town and central to all the restaurants, bars and nightlife. Sean arranged a taxi to collect me at the airport. After...

I don't usually write travel recommendations but this pousada was exceptional. The setting, the staff, the service, the rooms and the breakfast were all excellent! I felt like I was living in a dream or in a movie, it was really that great. Special mention goes to the staff who were so helpful and friendly. Once when we changed rooms...

Originally, we planned to stay at Pousada Estrela do Mar for three nights, but we cut our trip short and decided to go show at the airport even though we did not get a confirmation from TAM airlines. Fortunately, we were able to get on the flight and was very happy to get away from Salvador. However, this was not...

We stayed at Estrela do Mar in early February and absolutely fell in love with it. I wish I had enough superlatives to express just how wonderful, friendly, helpful and welcoming the staff are. The rooms are spacious, simple and clean, and it is easily accessible to the rest of the city via bus or taxi. The breakfasts here are...
