This old hotel is located right on the Black River (Rio Negro in Portuguese), one of the many river tributaries that flows into the Amazon...well kinda. See, the Rio Negro actually "meets" the Amazon River but doesn't completely mix because of a variety of factors. It makes for a cool day excursion to go see it by boat from the...

As an Ecoresort, its location on the banks of the Rio Negro is magnificent and its grounds and its attractions ( a mini zoo, a large swiming pool, spacious gardens, a close by sandy beach) could not be better. As a hotel it is a shame. Large rooms and spacious bathrooms, but their condition and maintainace are simply bad. Breakfast...

I usually don't give poor reviews but I can't let this one go. I don't personally have asthma but that is all I could think about when I was there! Thank God I don't have any breathing difficulty because that place would be a nightmare! The air conditioner is on full blast in the rooms and it is impossible to...

I made reservations at this hotel for a three night package with two meals per day and a meeting of the waters cruise. The charge was R$1121. When I arrived at the hotel the front office staff attempted to charge me approximately R$1400. Fortunately I had my conformation with me and with a bit of discussion the price quoted was...

This is a very unique hotel. It offers a mini private zoo, lots of conference rooms, swimming pools, amongst other facilities. However, the rooms can be very far away from the reception and even though very spacious the beds are not the nicest. Bathroom is also big and have a good shower.

Probably three and a half stars, actually! Very quiet - not the main tourist season, perhaps? This is a magnificent old-style resort, albeit in need of a little TLC (tender loving care)! It was fun exploring the many corridors and pathways all over the very large site! We had a HUGE room with a high stud and windows overlooking lovely...

We were 3 nights in the hotel and in all we had so much cold (for which we were not prepared considering it was hot!) We did not sleep well even with two blankets. This is a horrible hotel with corridors leading to more corridors so you can easily get lost looking for your room. The hotel feels like it was built in the Soviet era in every respect. It's just about clean but our room was cold, damp & the meagre sheets didn't even fit the bed. The blanket we were given reminds...
