Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Manaus is not big on tourism. It is a huge bustling riverside city sweltering in the Amazon rainforest climate. If you plane to stay there, then a central location is important. This (so-say) 4-star hotel is fine for a short stay, in our case 6 nights. We were welcomed, in English, in the cool marble floored foyer then shown to our room on the 7th floor (great views) via an eccentric lift. The room is dated and a bit careworn. In my view that adds to its appeal- this is no standard tourist place. No double glazing meant there were occasional disturbances from the street below - and the majorettes rehearsing in the school in the next block. It all added to the atmosphere. Clean room ( we asked for the floor to be washed after a couple of days) and good bedding. Extra pillow supplied when requested.. Breakfast included; fruit, juices (sucos) coffee, cheese and ham etc. Useful grill to make toasties. Staff very good about supplying hot water for tea. Small swimming pool (8.5 metres) only really god for a cooling off swim and the decking was a bit grubby. However it was great value for money and we could walk to all the main attractions from there in a few minutes; the opera house, cathedral, docks, various bars and shopping areas.

Arrived at night, the hotel was booked by Jack from Manaus Booking (beware of him, i did not got what I have booked). The sign at the outside has 4 Stars Superior, hahaha. No, maybe 4 Brasil Stars. The room was dirty with ants, the beds so uncomfortable without a slipcover. Bathroom ok, warm water shower. But... no soap or showergel provided. For a 4 Star Hotel a shame. The fridge very dirty with things from the guest before. AC loud and old. A broken chair and not all the lights were working. Only one staff member speaks a bit Englisch. Didn´t say goodbye during check out. Maybe for 1 or 2 nights ok for the price, but better choose another hotel. But there was one good thing: a strong Wifi Signal.

I ended up at this hotel due to the local agent for the company I work for use it (it has been some words at the office after). To be honest, it is more like a place you rent on hourly basis, without taking that further. After hours on travel, and knowing I was out of there in just hours I accepted it (normally I would call the people who arrange and tell them to find something better). They had something called elevators, but the stairs was safer... (only one of them where working). The thing they called breakfast was neighter nothing to tell my mother about.

This hotel was booked for us through our tour agent- Jack Manaus booking (he's an over eager salesman and fraud...beware of him). This is a basic hotel... rooms were ok... noisy aircon...pathetic breakfast. ..even worse staff...dont know a work of English. Stay only for a short nights sleep. Nothing more!

If you want to stay downtown Manajus, this is the place to go. US$ 25 for a double room with excellent breakfast can't beat any place. Decent English speaking reception and room service will take care of you and won't bother you to do one of those creepy jungle tours, what you might suffer in other hotels downtown. Not to forget the view on the city with the Negro river and the genererator, that keeps your room cool even on one of those steadily power failures in Manaus.

Aged hotel, but within the economic category (R$120,00 Dbl = +- US$40 per night) an excelent cost Benefit in Manaus Ceter area. +- 10min from Teatro Amazonas, 4min from Amzon river tours harbour. Acceptable Breakfast, terrible kitchen for dinner (Spagetti seemed made with Catchup, Chicken breast was small and dry, French Fries weren't crispy, instead of vegetables, I received rice,.....) Pool is empty, don't expect a relaxing swim at the end of the day. Suggested to ask for an upper floor (7th or 8th) because of the noisy street and cheap glass, but beware of energy drops and the need to use the stairs. Front desk is very helpfull and negotiated a taxi to the airport for R$50,00 instead of R$75,00 regular. Bed was ok, ortopedic, locker without doors, bathroom aged, but clean.

If you are a budget traveler and used to hostels and budget accommodations then this would be fine. The hotel is old, every single part of it. I did not feel comfortable staying there. I was supposed to stay two nights but could only do one. They do have a good breakfast, and the staff is very very nice. I was told by staff not to walk outside the hotel after dark when the streets are quiet, not even step right outside the hotel for a smoke, it's not a safe area.

We stayed here two nights, breakfast was included which consisted of several choices of fruit, eggs, rolls, 3 types of juices, meat and cheese platter and other items. You can walk to the Opera House from this hotel. Wifi worked in the lobby. Rooms had AC and a refrigerator. Bathrooms small but clean. Mattresses very hard.

Clean and simple hotel. Good location. You can walk right outside and you're smack in the middle of he shopping district which seems to go on forever (although everyone seems to sell the same things). Room was clean and everything worked just fine. Although not a four star hotel, I don't think you'll find much better in Manaus.
