As soon as one enters the high-ceilinged, stucco-walled Hotel Villa Amazonia and walks upon the polished tile floor, one imagines oneself in the past when the magnificent Opera House across the street was new. In fact, as we entered and were warmly welcomed by the...More
Check in and check out were fast (and we arrived late at night). Did our laundry between trips to the jungle (hotel laundry prices, but that is expected).
Felt secure. Rooms are small, but clean and had no concerns. Location was good for us.

Manaus is not a beautiful city. however is the point of start for Brazilian rain forest. However, as there is a lot of history there, it's worth spending two or three days, visiting the Fruit Market, the Fish Market and, most of all, the Teatro...More

Yes, they are 100% safe. They charge (on May 4th, 2017) R$ 75,00 (~ USD 25,00) to take you from the Airport to the Hotel, and at the time you are arriving, the trip will take from 15 to 20 minutes. At the kiosk you can pay with your credit card. Or you can go straight to the exit and you see some taxi drivers offering their services. At the Airport in Manaus, only cerified and allowed drivers are able to work. So, even if it seems a bit disorganized you won't have troubles in reaching any place in Manaus. To avoid language miscomunication, write down the address of the Hotel in a piece of paper and show to the driver. To avoid erros, bellow is the simplest description of the Hotel address:
Hotel Villa Amazonia
Rua 10 de Julho, 315 - Centro
Em frente à antiga Santa Casa
Have a good trip!
