We were so excited when we booked this hotel. We booked a canyon view room, and had planned to do the tram & boat ride during our visit. Buyer beware - things are not what they seem online. We drove 500 miles to Hawks Nest,...More

WV State Parks have always been quite nice. Poor Hawks Nest has fallen on bad times and it is heart breaking. There isn't even a restaurant anymore. We took the tram down to the river and rode the jet boat which was nice. But, everything...More

The front desk folks were wonderful. However, the lodge is in bad need of repairs and updates. Money must be tight for state parks. The scenery can't be beat. Sad to see the restaurant is closed and breakfast was really scarce. Two unfriendly staff members...More

The boat was $25/adult and $10/children. The tram was $7/adult and $5/children. The tram is closed every Wednesday for maintenance. Nearby is the Ansted trail also that is worth the walk!
