We recently stayed at Ships Harbor Inn from October 19 through 22, 2021 for a reunion of friends. During our stay we were treated rudely by the night staff, had trouble with the keys, were told 'that's your problem. We stayed 3 nights and had NO maid service, no trash removed and had to get our own towels from the lobby. We were not allowed to even wait in the lobby for our group to congregate. And all this for $164.00 a night. No, don't think we will return.
I was excited to find this Inn so close to the Washington State Ferry because my wife and I wanted to hop over to San Juan Island for a full day kayak tour but did not want to spend the night there. The Ship Harbor Inn is about a 15 min walk to the ferry. When we checked in we felt that the room was adequate but not spectacular. The view from the small patio area just outside the room was nice and there was a gathering area with several tables and chairs and a fireplace very close by. We were all unpacked and had everything laid out for an early morning departure on the ferry when I decided to take a shower. Disaster! The shower handle turned the water on but could not turn the water off. It just kept spinning around until it fell off. I screwed it back in place but still didn't work. I called the front desk and the man came to fix the faucet. He quickly realized as had I by that point that the handle on the faucet was not a match for the rest of the plumbing. So the water just kept running and he asked if we were done with our shower and would like to stay in the room. We weren't and we didn't. So luckily there were very few rooms occupied and we moved to the room right next door which had what looked to be new plumbing. The man who came to help us was not all that helpful other than to deliver a key for the new room and he offered that we could check out instead. Not an acceptable option late at night. There was never an offer of some sort of compensation for our troubles and there should have been. Once in the new room our stay was fine but I still can't give this Inn a good or excellent rating for the lack of consideration for their defective plumbing and our inconvenience. Other than the convenience to the ferry and the nice view it is hard to recommend this place to others. A disappointing experience.…
This is the perfect place to stay to catch an early morning ferry. The bed was comfortable and the staff courteous. The view of the harbor was nice and we enjoyed watching the birds from our patio area.
This cute hotel is made up of small cottages and rooms on a hill overlooking the harbor. Our room was delightfully clean with lovely linens. As we were taking the ferry, this was a perfect spot to begin our little trip of some of the San Juan Islands.
Enjoyable stay at Ship Harbor Inn in Anacortes, Fidalgo Island, WA. Rented a corner room with view. Room was roomy, clean, comfortable and good view from our private balcony. Near Washington State Ferry. Parking near our room was adequate and available.
