When you see this motel's exterior and its room rate (less than half the cost of hotels nearby), you may think it must be a dive. You'd be wrong. The staff was friendly and helpful, and my room was great - clean, well equipped: tiled stall shower with glass doors, granite countertops, mini-fridge, and internet access. The light continental breakfast...

Just can’t beat the value of the Highlander Motel. Still a "4" for value. Rooms are no frills, a bit outdated in terms of furnishings, but clean and serviced daily. Bathrooms have been updated. It is just a block or two from the Virginia Square Metro, and an easy walk to downtown Clarendon (1/2 mile) or Ballston (mile). There are...

Not sure how this is a 4 star hotel. We checked into room 24 and only chose this hotel because it was a 4 star. Wow I was shocked. Vick roaches in the refrigerator, hair in the shower sink and toilet. The sink smelled like throw up. There was feces from the previous people on the bottom of the toilet...

Desk Clerk apoliogized, offered to move you to another room , Offered to clean the room, you declined and She refunded your Money. We have scheduled Exterminator Service. Sometimes people bring them. (not saying you ) which we can not control. This is not our normal. Again we apologize.

We live in the neighborhood behind the Highlander. We were celebrating my mother's 100th birthday and needed extra beds for out-of-town guests. They just wanted some place that was clean and relatively comfortable nearby. The Highlander exceeded all our guests' expectations. Every one raved about how much they liked it - and said the Highlander would be their "go to"...

I have stayed at this motel before, and find it quite consistent. It is: a low-cost, no-frills clean place to stay in Arlington. If you want pretty modern finishes and the standard types of amenities of a business hotel - coffee maker, gym, pool, etc - this is NOT the place for you. The rooms have a half-height fridge, and...

We stayed at the Highlander Motel while visiting Washington DC for a week. The price was very reasonable, the room was clean and quiet, and the metro was a couple of blocks down the street. A mini-fridge is provided so we supplemented the fruit, coffee/tea, and toast provided with cereal and milk brought from home and ate in our room....

We were visiting our grandson who is in the Old Guard, stationed at Ft. Myer. Wanted a convenient location to the base and the Metro. We found this gem on TripAdvisor and it was everything we read about in the reviews. They did offer a continental breakfast which included apples and banana's and yogurt. We chose to go to a...

The staff is courteous, I had some peace and quiet, and above all, it's a walking distance to a great church. Breakfast was great (if you like fruits for breakfast). Has a nice, "homey" feel. Definitely recommend. However, it may not be an appropriate place to take kids on a vacation, unless you can manage the space.

Stayed here while attending a conference in DC. Clean comfortable room with updated bathroom with large glass walled shower. Flat screen TV and 2 comfortable double beds. I also recommend getting a large steak and cheese at Mario's next door.
