We really enjoyed our stay here. The room had a deck with comfortable chairs right beside the river where we enjoyed our books. The food was divine, and Paula was a fantastic hostess. The rates were very reasonable.

This was our first stay at a b & b, and it couldn't have been better! Paula is such an attentive hostess, the accommodations were clean and inviting, and the setting is idyllic. Breakfast was delicious - as my husband likes to call it, "a bowl of apple-cinnamon deliciousness." We look forward to returning to River Garden

We had a great stay at the River Garden B&B. It was very clean, calming, and peaceful on the banks of the Holston River. We had a deck overlooking the river and was so peaceful just listening to the river flow by. There is a hot tub on the bottom deck that we thoroughly enjoyed in the evening after dark.... More

This B&B is about 15 minutes outside of charming Abingdon which may be a drawback to some. For us it was a real find- close enough to Abingdon but quiet and peaceful. Each room has windows and a deck allowing a view of the North fork of the Holston River 50 feet below. We slept with the calming meditative sounds... More

The River Garden B & B is a somewhat out-of-the-way gem of a place. It is nestled at the foot of a mountain and on the banks of the river. Each room has a deck entrance facing the river. It is peaceful and beautiful, and it's just a short, scenic ride into Abindon. Paula is an excellent hostess and cook.... More

For a trip to the Abingdon area, this B&B was a great place to stay! Very quiet location with beautiful views of the river, yet close enough to town. The food was amazing and Paula set up our bike rides and theater tickets like a 5 star concierge. She made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.... More

Paula was a tremendous host and provided anything we could want and more. She made sure we knew where we were going, and was more than happy to help us in any way possible. The home theater is exceptional, and there are numerous board games to make for a relaxing stay. Then there is the food. I ate my fill... More

We had a lovely weekend getaway at the River Garden. It was located right on the river with great amenities including a nice hot tub, amazing theater setup, pool table, exercise room and lots of games. There were tasty baked goods out all day (cakes, banana bread, etc). Breakfast was delicious and the rooms were comfortable and had private entrances... More

For me vacations are about visiting new place - exploring and learning and experiencing people and places. We prefer small B&Bs or inns which allow us to get to know some of the local residents. Rarely do we return to the same place twice but we have one B&B in the VA mountains and one at the SC shore that... More

The River Garden B&B is just amazing. Situated on the river with a rocking-chair deck, hot tub, fitness room, media room, and comfortable rooms, it is worth the drive (only 15 minutes or so from Abingdon) to stay there and take advantage of the town of Abingdon, the Barter Theatre performances, and the Va. Creeper Trail. We loved that it... More
