I have been visiting here for nearly 20 years. The rooms are quite comfortable and one can select a level of lodging to fit almost any budget. Breakfast and dinner are included and the food is fabulous. The Sitzmark bar is an experience well worth enjoying. The staff are great and work hard to make your stay enjoyable. Alta is... More

There's almost no point in reviewing Alta Lodge. If it's your kind of place, you probably already know about it. This place is beyond special. It's unique. It's ski-in, ski-out, with gorgeous views of the mountain and down valley. Being from Colorado it pains me a bit to say, but Utah really does have the world's best snow. I was... More

My stay at the Alta Lodge. The staff was very friendly, accomodating my very late check-in quite graciously. My room had a great view of the slopes and the surrounding woods, and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant had the most delicious pecan salad I have ever tasted. The hot pool felt great after a day of hard skiing.... More

Have stayed at the Alta lodge just a few times, but can honestly say it is a wonderful ski lodge. The staff and food are first class all the time. Stayed in the original lodge room and although it is small I could not ask for a better experience. Will be trying my best to make this annual trip.

Warm, friendly, quality without being stuffy. Wonderful yoga classes in the classic bar. Perfect ski-in & out. Great hot pools & sauna. Supreme food. Great wine list. The best staff anyone could want.

I only have positive things to say about this hotel - it is simply the perfect ski lodge for our family. It is a hotel that has figured out everything that someone may want while skiing and made an effort to provide this and more. The rooms are comfortable and warm, the food is excellent and plentiful, and the bar... More

Alta lodge is an anachronism in a world of chain hotels, media everywhere, corporate ownership and 24 hour everything. Its an old school ski lodge, with great food, terrific sking, friendly helpful staff and interesting guests from all over the world. The rooms and physical facilities are old, and to some they will be unappealling, but to others they will... More

The Alta Lodge knows how to make it happen when the big storms hit. Knew we had the potential of a 2 foot dump and asked the GM about the opportunity for a backcountry snow cat trip. That was on a Monday morning and 2 days later...along with other lodge guests we were skiing fresh lines in Grizzly Gulch. This... More

A recent ski trip with friends included 2 days/nights at Alta/Snowbird. I had enjoyed both Alta & Snowbird before, so was really excited about the skiing. I decided to reserve a bed in a bunkroom at Alta Lodge to minimize cost - rooms at Snowbird and most at Alta were just too expensive. Knew nothing else about the place, was... More

Not sure why this place continues to get good reviews. The physical facilities are outdated and in poor shape The bar is dark and creepy as is the sauna and jacuzzi area. The rooms spartan and small and noise travels between rooms. A bright spot is good food with a nice variety of menu. The staff has varied from helpful... More
