This hotel is Awesome except for the very hard mattress. No flexibility when touching it. If you are a side sleeper do not get the king Jr suite! It will crush your shoulders, appears same sales rep sold the Gage Hotel in Marathon also. Not luxury mattress expected for a boutique or upscale hotel should provide. Decor lovely, great bar,...

Hello, I am so sorry that you didn't get a great night sleep. We've found that mattress preference is extremely subjective, but have been replacing our mattresses with Serta Concierge line. I would love to know specifically what room you were in to see if that was a newly replaced mattress or if we should add it to our next...

According to the hotel's website, "The Holland Hotel is the real thing – genuine Texas history, plus today’s comfort and style." We found this statement to be absolutely true. The hotel provides moments of Edna Ferber's description of old-Texas interior design. The lobby is well worth a good sit-down with a nice cool drink while people-watching and taking in the...

I spent four nights at the Holland Hotel and stayed in the Junior suite on the 3rd floor (room 317). It was a quiet room, in the back of the hotel. The room had a small sitting area with two chairs and the bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub. The room was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable with mini-refrigerator, microwave and...

The trip, including Big Bend and surrounding area, exceeded our expectations, and the Holland Hotel certainly added to the experience...tastefully restored, most convenient, and well operated....as a bonus, we had one of the best pizzas ever right across the street.....

I had read about this place in magazines, so thought I would give it a try. The front desk clerk put me on the 3rd floor, even though he could see I was carrying lots of miscellaneous luggage from traveling via motorcycle. The first thing I noticed was the elevator button would not work from the first floor. I could...

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are a small team and know that when guests visit Alpine they have a choice where to stay. We take criticisms from our guests seriously and are constantly trying to improve. We do have an elevator from our first to our second and third floors. I am sorry...

Beautiful old hotel, with great restaurant and bar. Hotel and wait staff were super friendly and helpful. Loved that they are pet friendly and take in a rescue dog and have been very successful in getting them forever homes!

I loved staying at this hotel. Sadly, it was only for 1 night. The atmosphere takes you back in time. It's real relaxing and the restaurant was top notch. The lobby is cozy......the type of room you could curl up in with a good book for a few hours.

Holland Hotel is located in Alpine TX. It was very charming, excellent staff and very comfortable room. It is not the cookie cutter place one so typically sees as it is an old building restored to current use as a hotel. There is a bar and dining room with excellent food. Hello, We are delighted to hear you enjoyed our one of a kind hotel! We were built by Henry Trost, a prolific architect in this area in the early 1900s, as a grand hotel for the people getting off the train. The Holland has had many iterations in her life so far, but we were delighted to have her back...

Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, beautiful old decor and yummy restaurant. The ONLY downside was that we could hear what people were saying in the next room. I had a cold and coughed all night long. Thought it was annoying to the ones in next room, but they do give ear plugs for the train -- or for noisy neighbors!

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I appreciate that your understood the quirks of an old hotel and were conscientious of your neighbors!
