Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Clean rooms and good breakfast. Breakfast attendant went out of her way to make sure we found everything we needed and helped us make waffles when the machine was not working properly. Great customer service! Comfy beds! Would try to not get ground floor as doors to the outside do not close quietly. Pool looked nice but didn’t get the chance to try it.

Comfortable bed and quiet room at the perfect temperature. Room--which appeared recently remodeled--thoughtfully designed by someone who has actually stayed in a hotel: bench for suitcases; convenient foot rest/coffee tables; and flexible reading lights on each side of the bed. The staff was friendly and helpful.

As soon as we walked in, there was a sign on the door that stated the hotel was getting a remodel so we took some of the issues we had with a grain of salt. The beds were very comfortable- that’s really all we needed, since it was an overnight stay. However, my biggest gripe is the state of the room. The microwave had not been cleaned, there was a (I assume) used towel over the bathrub & a wash cloth on the desk chair. There was also a sheen layer of dust over several items in the room. I realize this is not a 5 star hotel, however I do know there are cleaning requirements in place, especially after the pandemic. The cleanliness is one of my top reasons for choosing Choice hotels, but this particular hotel fell short.

Booked this with the promise of working amenities. Arrived at hotel waiting 30 mins to be helped as the reservation of the family before us was lost. But the receptionist did not even acknowledge us or greet us during our wait. During this time we wandered the hotel, found the pool which was full and looked in working order, and we realized the halls and lobby did not have the AC on. Returning to lobby there’s a sign saying the pool is closed for maintenance, but none could be seen when we saw it. Due to this they are offering free cancellation. Because of this, lack of AC, and off putting lack of reception, we looked into other lodging. During this time the one receptionist left the desk. Hotels.com whom we had booked through tried to call 3 different times over 15 mins. I believe the receptionist was in the restroom? But while the phone was obviously ringing she slowly walked from the hallway, I informed her that call should be for us. she then stopped at the hand sanitizer, rubbed it through her hands, then slowly walked behind the counter, as the phone stopped ringing right when she slowly approached it! She was very unapologetic. Hotels.com was VERY accommodating towards this hotels lack of concern and customer care. They immediately changed our reservation and paid the extra cost for our upgrade. I will never try to book here again. If this is how unfriendly and helpful their first impression of a front desk receptionist is, I can only imagine what the rest of the staff is like in friendliness or lack of job responsibility.

We arrived at 6:30 PM, and it is 8:00 PM, and we still cannot be checked into our rooms. They had a problem with the cleaning crew, so they do not have enough rooms cleaned, and even the ones they gave us, some bathrooms were not cleaned. The receptionists are doing the best they can with the cards they were dealt, however this has been a bit of nightmare.

We have stayed at this hotel for the past 4-5 years while visiting family for holidays. The staff is always super nice and helpful, but the hotel has gone downhill over the past few years.

There have been no updates to the rooms, and on our last stay, our suite had stained carpet, a stained sofa, and multiple scratches and stains on the walls and doors. Toilets were very spotty and would barely flush, and water pressure was hit or miss.

In addition, the quality of the breakfast has declined over time. There is little in the way of fruit, condiments are limited, and the quality of the coffee is mediocre at best.

We have enjoyed staying here in previous years, but will probably be looking for a more updated and better value option for our next stay in Abilene.

We booked this hotel so that we could spend the weekend visiting our Airman. We booked based on the pictures and reviews. However, the hotel is under renovations. All of the public areas in the hotel are filthy. They were even renovating on the floor we were staying on. The hallways are filthy, full of Sheetrock dust, and stink. Our room keys did not work every evening when we would show up to go to bed. We would have to go to the front desk to get them reset. The breakfast is absolutely disgusting. We requested to have housekeeping everyday to have the room cleaned, bed made, and new towels. Housekeeping showed up the first day and then never came back. When we inquired at the front desk we were told that they didn’t have a housekeeper on the weekend and we should have booked during the week if we wanted housekeeping. We were shocked by this response. We were charged full price for a hotel under construction and terrible service. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. The Holiday Inn Express was right behind it and looks much cleaner and much better kept up. I would try that hotel next time.

We stayed here 2 nights this last week. It is an older hotel and a little tired, towels not fluffy, water stain on curtain, but on the whole it was clean. The bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked well, bed very comfortable, (we bring our own pillows so don't know about the pillows, and it was very quiet. I will say that the people working there, from the manager on down to the housekeepers were friendly and extremely helpful. Summing up - if you want a comfortable quiet place to stay, this is it.

This was an average Comfort Suites. Check in was fast and the clerk was super friendly. He had to come to our room because the TV wouldn't work and he found a cable was unhooked. The vent in the bathroom didn't work and the wifi was difficult to get to open. The bed was comfy and breakfast was ok. We will stay here again next time we're in the area.

We were actually very pleased with this hotel. It is older, but in good condition. Clean exterior and interior. Room was a king and bed was quite comfortable, as were pillows. Room thermostat stayed consistant in keeping room cool. Reasonable rates, too...will definitely stay again.
