Though this is one of the oldest B&B's in Ashland, it is kept up to date and current. The rooms may be small but are cozy, clean, warm and inviting. Ours even had its own private entrance. The breakfasts were delicious and original, many coming from the hostess' personal published cookbook. The staff was courteous and always available. The B&B...

The Chanticleer is beautiful, immaculate, and charming. Ellen, the owner and innkeeper, is warm and professional, makes delicious and healthy breakfasts, and seems to have a stable of loyal and interesting repeat guests. The inn is on a quiet street in town within very easy walking distance of all of Ashland's attractions, including of course the theaters, which can be...

The title says it all!!!! Ellen is the consummate hostess-----you cannot help but like her! She runs a first-class B&B out of a well cared for Arts& Craft bungalow------rooms are impeccable ......Picture 9 people sitting in the living room reading the Sunday New York Times.....content as could be...... after a superb breakfast! Gorgeous gardens.......walking distance to everything......great linens.......we loved Ashland,...

The rooms, the cleanliness, the ambiance, the food, the location, the innkeeper--these all contribute to making Chanticleer the absolute best place to stay in Ashland. Ellen Campbell is devoted --unobtrusively--to making sure that her guests have everything they need, want, and ought to seek out. She even found us a fantastic B & B at our next location at a...

Neither of us can remember how many years we've been coming to Chanticleer Inn and enjoying Ellen's wonderful breakfasts, cozy rooms and especially her genuine hospitality - and the fact that we've been returning for so many years perhaps says it all!

This was my second stay at Chanticleer and it will not be the last. Pros include clean, well--appointed rooms, comfy beds, lovely extesive gardens, proximity to Ashland's small downtown, phenomenal breakfasts and an Innkeeper that is devoted to providing great service without being cloying. In general the other guests were all much more interesting - and much less creepy -...

Ellen, Chanticleer's owner/hostess, treats all her guests like honored visitors and special friends. She was very helpful in helping us find activities and restuarants. Her breakfasts were delicious and nutritious. The interraction with the other guests at breakfast was very fun and interesting. It's only a short two block walk to the town, and 6 blocks or so to the...

This B & B is pretty much perfect. Lovely, comfortable furnishings, tasty and healthy breakfasts to get the day going and, the most comfortable beds all will make your stay at the Chanticleer memorable. But we will especially remember Ellen, the most gracious of innkeepers. She made us feel so very welcome and a part of her "family". We look...

We just visited Ashland on a trip with my husband's parents. I found the Chanticleer to be as easy place to call home. The gardens are beautiful, with plenty of places to sit and read outside. Our room didn't carry too much noise from the dining room, even though we were right below the upstairs dining room. We spent several...

Our group of play-goers stays twice a year at Chanticleer to see all the plays at OSF. Ellen and her staff make us more than comfortable, feed us (too well) while navigating our various menu restrictions, make our reservations, and generally pamper us so we hate to go home. The Inn is furnished in an unfussy style in keeping with...
