Callahan's Mountain Lodge was an incredible find, beyond what we expect when traveling to a somewhat out of the way hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, efficient, and accommodating of our four couple gathering. We had several last minute needs that Jennifer (co-owner, manager)...More

It's about 8 miles south of town, Sasha. It's near the summit of the pass over Mt Ashland but at least for me, it is well worth the drive if you are looking for a place with a very romantic atmosphere. If you want to be close to town for the Shakespeare festival, you could consider something in Ashland but I do suggest treating yourself to Callahan's for at least a night. Booking through a discount web site proved to make my stay affordable as well. Hope this helps!
