Reserved for three nights at the "majestic" room for four guests. All four of us stayed in the same room. It cost about $90 a night including free breakfast. The room was big enough, it had a street view (not that great), but at least it had a window. The other rooms I've seen don't have any windows at all....

Near Doroteo Station of LRT 1. 7-11 convenience store nearby. Comfy Bed, Ref, Electric Kettle and complimentary wifi. Hotel has swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna complimentary for guests. It also has casino. Near proximity to Lucky Chinatown and 168 mall and UST through Tricycle ride costing around 50 pesos. Buffet Breakfast is somewhat disappointing as very basic and lack selections....

This is a nice hotel located in a very convenient place. The convenience store 7-11 is just cross the road. Chowking restaurant is not far either. The shuttle bus will take you to SM or Robinsons shopping mall if book advance.

We checked in at 2pm and it was relatively fine, you had to deposit P1000 but they will return upon check out. 3 rooms were given to us immediately but the other 2 rooms were delayed by more...

I stayed here for a long weekend last August, They did not allow us to have a shuttle service like what they offer on the site.Im so disappointed about this :(They said they have a special guest by that time. But they shouldn't advertise a free shuttle service on the site if they could not accommodate all of the guest.....

Staffs were awful. The breakfast buffet was awful as well. Food was stale. Pastries were like baked last month. Never will I recommend this motel to anyone. This motel is overrated and the room is dirty. We found cigarette butts all over our room.

I attended a seminar in one of their function rooms at the 8th floor. The food was just ok. The restroom was clean. The staff, waiters, receptionists and even the lobby and the parking guards were all friendly, attentive & helpful. The hotel is conveniently located almost along Taft avenue, near Divisoria and Isetann Recto.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Manila Grand Opera Hotel stands today on the former site of the Manila Grand Opera House, a cultural landmark that showcased Philippine arts from 1900 to the late 1950. Formally launched in August 2008, it combines the historic theater's cultural legacy with a boost to the travel and tourism industry as the only luxury hotel in Manila's Sta. Cruz district, near Binondo's Chinatown. Located on the corner of Rizal Avenue and Doroteo Jose Street, the Manila Grand Opera Hotel today caters to an increasing number of visitors from China and Taiwan, aside from habitues and residents of the area who have long hoped for such a center of elegance and beauty to emerge in their midst. At the hotel's entrance stands a historical marker about the inauguration of the first Philippine Assembly on Oct. 16, 1907 by United States Secretary of War William Howard Taft, a historic event that was held there. As the only elegant hotel in downtown Manila, Manila Grand Opera Hotel expects to cater to the increasing number of Chinese visitors from the mainland and Taiwan who will feel at home staying near Manila's Chinatown. The hotel also serves the needs of the Chinese community residing in the nearby Chinatown by providing accommodations for their relatives and friends coming from abroad, he added. The luxury hotel has 250 contemporary guest rooms equipped with state-of-the-art door lock system, cable TV and Wi-Fi and LAN access, a mini-bar with a wide variety of snacks and drinks, with amenities such as buffet breakfast, use of the Infinity swimming pool, and spa. For the dining enjoyment of guests, there are the New President Sharksfin Seafood Restaurant serving authentic Chinese cuisine and the Circa 1900 Bar and Restaurant offering an array of gastronomic delights in an old world ambiance created by the blown up photographs on the walls of artists who had performed at the old theater. For big social gatherings, the hotel's Ambassador's Hall can accommodate up to 1,000 guests while several Meeting Rooms are also available for smaller gatherings such as business meetings, social get-together, dining, meeting and banquets. ... more   less
