I just stayed here for three days because I got a good deal on hotels.com but I’m really not happy with the room size and the fact that you have to check out at 10 o’clock. There are so many apa hotels in Osaka and Japan, that I decided to give it a try for eventual future stays. That was my trial, and hopefully I am not staying again in one of these hotels. The cleaning staff is doing an excellent job, the reception staff is very nice, polite and friendly , but only one guy (the trainee!) was speaking English. The location of the hotel is in a very good position, it’s just around the corner to the Osaka Castle. The room size is just a joke. You cannot live , not even a day, in a ten square meter room. That’s really terrible. I know the prices are right and they have to make money but this is really like stacking tourists one on top of another. I don’t think I’m going to stay in another apa hotel ever again.

Kita can be expensive (even business hotels as they cater for business men), so this was actually a pretty good location for the price. This is a good location if you need to get to JR Osaka station for travel - Temma is only 1 ride away.

We got bumped up to a Twin room on the top floor because there as an error in the booking system for Jalan and there were only smoking double rooms left. Staff was really nice about it and really helpful.

Temma is actually very close to Osaka station, and it's a working class area that actually includes Japan's longest shopping street - not far from JR station. This hotel is on the quiet side of that but there is a 24 hour laundry and 2 convenience stores. Because it's on the quieter side it made the walk seem a bit longer but once you know where it is it was fine.

It was great that there was a Japanese communal bath with the usual facilities. Hotels with these facilities are hard to find in Osaka and are usually not cheap.

Hotel had great wifi. We didn't have the breakfast but I think it's a bit pricey at Y1500. The area right near JR Temma would have cheaper options.

I've been to budger hotel but this one is a bit on the expensive side compared to its peers. The subway is also not that accessible. It's about 700m away. Most budget hotels have subway access within 200m. The breakfast was good. The room is a typical small budget hotel room with all the amenities except for a phone. You have to go to the hall to call the front desk. We paid for a better budget hotel at JPY7,000 per night. This one cost us JPY15,000.

I chose this hotel because of its price but I would not stay here again. This is definitely a hotel catered to Japanese. The staff have limited English and had no travel adapters. The hotel room itself is tiny and there was only 1 power point available and no safe provided. Breakfast was typical Japanese style, the upside was that it was close to Temma station. The room itself is relatively clean, but the bathroom could have been cleaner - plus it is quite outdated.

The only good thing about this hotel is that the nearest train station is roughly a 5min walk and on the Osaka loop line. We arrived at the hotel a couple of hours before check in (3pm). I understand that we were two hours early but sometimes this can't be avoided with travel times. We were told if we wanted access to our room we'd have to pay an overpriced fee. It was two hours! The room was ready and nobody else was using it! I've travelled and stayed in numerous hotels and generally they'll let you into your room if it's ready. We let the staff member photocopy our passports (which is standard for foreigners) and got the hotel to hold our luggage until 3pm. This is in their lobby foyer so if you do plan on arriving early make sure you have your bags locked. When we returned at 3pm I experienced the worst check in to a hotel of my life. The girl who served us was a trainee (which is perfectly acceptable) and was having issues checking us in. We gave her the name for the room and waited patiently for another staff member to assist her. The next girl walks over looks at her screen and grabs a photocopy of passports that evidently don't belong to us and can't work out why the names aren't matching on the screen to ours. Four staff members including one who I assume to be the manager were standing around laughing in Japanese trying to figure it out while essentially ignoring us for at least ten minutes. It wasn't until I caught sight of one of the passport photocopies in one of the staff members hands that I told them they didn't belong to us. Suddenly it occurs to them to check our passports again and what do you know they found a name that matched. Twenty minutes later and we were finally in our room. The bed is TINY even to Japanese hotel standards. The pillows are shocking and they don't even use a proper fitted sheet on the bed. The room, in particular the bathroom was old, visibly dilapidated and felt dirty. The rooms have minimal power sockets to charge phones. The breakfast is very basic insufficiently replenished - if you want a taste of everything, arrive at 6:30am when the breakfast bar opens and is fully stocked. The only staff that were friendly were the cleaning ladies on the floor when we'd leave the room in the morning. Save yourself the discomfort and stay somewhere else.

If you make a left out the station with Mcdonalds or KFC (can't remember) behind you and on the other entrance, it's a 5min walk down the road. You can see APA sign when you come out of the train station. You will have to walk under the overpass and you should pass a 7 eleven. The room was tiny and clean. I never heard my neighbors, nor did I use the onsen. Very classy hotel. Wi-fi worked great in hotel room and lobby. AC worked great as well. Buffet breakfast was good, mix of western and japanese dishes. try the japanese dishes, you did pay for it. This hotel is in a more quieter part of town, but the osaka loop line train connects you everywhere.

Since we only had one day to spend in Osaka, we chose this hotel because of the reasonable price and good location (it is walking distance from Tenma Station). The room that we got was a standard non-smoking room, average size for a budget hotel. The staff were kind and accommodating to our enquiries.
Anyways, we intended to spend the day exploring Osaka... so APA Hotel Osaka-Tenma just fits our need for a place to sleep and cap the night off.

This was my first trip to Japan and the purpose was for business. There are a number of differences between this hotel and the standard hotel in America...size being the biggest difference. It was a small bedroom and bathroom and it kind of reminded me of the accomodations on a cruise ship. But it was comfortable. I had all of the ammenities I needed. The internet was wired, but worked just find for video chatting via Skype. The breakfast buffet included foods I'm familiar with, like scrambled eggs, sausage, pasta salad and orange slices. There were also some new foods for me to try. The hotel is also very conveniently located near a train station, some nice walking paths by the river and a great variety of dining and shopping at the Tenjin street mall. The highly recommend trying the "onsen" (community bath and sauna) - that might give you the best night of sleep that you've ever had.

My wife and I stayed for only one night at APA Hotel, TEMMA, Osaka, Japan in the end of August, 2007.
We booked the hotel through a last Minute Hotel web-site and were given instant reservation, as against most other sites which make you wait for 24 hours and then return a message "Sorry, rooms are not available on the dates required by you!", and then you start all over again.
However, the hotel was just a bit dificult to locate. We had printed a map of the location and gave it to the taxi driver - the best way to locate any place in Japan, language being a VERY BIG problem - and he managed to locate the place after a while. Incidentally, APA Hotel, Temma is not to be confused with another APA Hotel property in Osaka, which is much better, but pricier.
The twin room that we had ordered was small, but so are practically all rooms in Japan. The two beds, though were very large and comfortable. Bathroom was just fine, and the toilet seat was the usual Japanese automated one with lots of buttons for washing yourself etc.
We did not opt for the breakfast, mostly because for us vegetarians there is usually not much to offer in hotels. No comments on the breakfast, therefore.
THE MOST INTERESTING FEATURE OF THE HOTEL WAS ITS FREE JACUZZI, SUANA etc. Guests are welcome to use it. You can wear the gown provided in all Japanese hotels and come down to the second floor for a refreshing time. Alas, they have separate sections for ladies and gents!!
The hotel is about a kilometer from the nearest metro station. This is a bit of a drag after a hectic day of roaming around.
But, all told, the hotel was good value for money.
