The location is an easy wall (about 3 blocks) from the large Osaka-Umeda station where there are tons of food and shopping options. There are 3 convenience stores closeby, including one at the first floor.

The staff are friendly and helpful, especially the gent and lady at the breakfast area. Food in the morning has to be chosen the night before. Options are limited but they sure are tasty and filling. Coffee, tea, juice are served as well.

The rooms are small but they are adequate. I would recommend the twin rooms (2 twin beds) instead of one queen bed. Reason is that the queen room includes a large table that takes most of the space in the room.

Overall recommended. Hilton Osaka is just a block away but thought we just needed a place to crash so the Mystays Hotel was our bet. Glad we stayed there.

We stayed in Osaka for two nights! We love the city. The hotel is beautiful and new with two really cool bars on the first floor. BUT, the rooms are tiny and hot! The air con is placed in a weird position- its placed in the hallway and not near the bed. They have to fix that.

The bathroom is so small that you can't even dry yourself. The shower is strong, but you can't be very tall. Then its hard work to have a shower.

We have to say that the staff is very helpful and friendly.

And no free WIFI in the rooms. Thats really bad in this day and age…especially in modern Japan.
Have a look at other hotels before you decide to stay here.

We stayed here for 2 nights in early April 2013. Hotel is great, room is clean and hotel staff is helpful and speak english. The only problem we faced initially is finding the hotel from JR Osaka Station as the station is huge and streets' name are not visible. Once you are familiar, it's easy, just need to look out for Nishi-umeda station or Yotsubashi line or Tozai line and kept walking towards it via underground. Another location to look out for will be Dojima underground centre. All these location will help in finding C69 exit. The name of hotel is stated on the signage at exit C69 so it's really useful. There's a staircase of around 40 flight of steps with a intermediate landing in between the steps, no escalator. Once you are up on ground level from this exit, make a u-turn from the left and walk towards the first lane. Turn right and you will see a few restaurants on both side of the lane and on the right you will find the hotel within 1-2 minutes after you exited from the underground. There's another entrance to the hotel which can be reached from the same exit if you walk straight, rather than u-turn. At the very first lane, make a left turn. The walk is longer, within 5 minutes. The hotel will be on your left.

Room is big enough in Japanese standard, but the staffs(man staff on 02Jan14 night shift at front desk) are way below Japanese standard with bad attitude. I never seem this services in Japan and I think my with me won't choose this hotel again. Also this hotel location is not very convenient.

At the time of writing this, my wife and I are finishing up our 2 week honeymoon in Japan with a short stint in Osaka. After staying in similar small hotels in Tokyo and Kyoto, we were surprised to see what awaited us at Hotel Vista Premio Dojima, especially given the number of quality hotels around the area.

Summary: if you have high tolerances for dirt and lower thresholds for cleanliness, this hotel offers an excellent location. If you don't like stains and dust on everything, this hotel is NOT for you.

--------------------------

Pros: good reception service, good location, convenience store located in the building (family mart, but for those who prefer 711, it's around the corner).

Cons... give me a moment.

On initial arrival, the foyer appeared impressive. The service was great, so we expected a decent hotel room. We were unfortunately given a smoking room, but I do expect that my issues with the rooms would resonate with the non-smoking rooms. The rooms initially appeared modern, spacious (for Japanese hotel rooms, much larger than the APA rooms), and decently equipped.

After moving our luggage into the room, the amount of dirt and poor cleanliness was evident. I don't think I've ever stayed in such a filthy hotel that was ranked so well before. There was many obvious stains around the room... one right beside the bed, one on the decorative pillow that they keep putting onto the sleeping pillows, a discolored bed decorative cloth, an obviously never-been-dusted floor where the TV/ethernet cables cross the room, and a dusty window sill. The blinds had holes in the square patterns. The toilet... there was blatant amounts of black mould around the soap dish, around the sink, and around the mirror. The bathtub was stained grey in spots, and there was old soap stains/scum on the side of the bathtub wall. Scum was evident on multiple areas of the washroom, that with a little elbow grease, would have been able to remove.

All of this, was taking into account that this was a smoking room, and the yellowed walls/ceiling, and the yellowed tub/sink (which may or may not have started off as some sort of cream colour).

In the morning, when we were about to leave the hotel, we noted that there was cloth left on the floor of the hallway outside of each room; we didn't dare obviously disturb them, but God knows if that ended up as our new bed sheets or towels. It was on the bloody FLOOR.

The face cloths that were used (and left on the sink), were just left by the cleaning staff. In all fairness, we were given new ones, but the old one was just left there.

It was so obviously dirty, that the rest of the room's cleanliness was called into question. We washed the cups again ourselves before using them. We didn't dare step on the floor after a shower, without using slippers, as the whether or not the carpet has been vacuumed (given how dusty the room is) is questionable. We didn't feel comfortable taking a bath, as the bathtub was filthy.

Wifi was decent but sporadically cut out. If all you do is surf the web, you won't notice when it happens, but for those of you who need it for more continuous and uninterrupted usage... I found it faster and more stable to just tether off of the Docomo LTE cellular network with my iPhone.

Usually I am not compelled to post a review whilst residing at a hotel, but our experience has been so poor, that it effectively ruined the remainder of our vacation. The only thing that prevents this review from being a 1/5, is the excellent service of the front desk staff and the location. If this hotel was further out from the city centre, or perhaps located in a more cut throat competitive country (i.e. Western Europe/USA), I suspect that the hotel would have soon been sold or been declared too unprofitable to sustain.

Booked 2 non-smoking rooms with booking.com. Upon arrival had to cone thru massive smoking area on ground floor to get to elavator to reception area on 2nd floor. When checking in the front desk area was very smokey from the downstairs. I thought things would be better in our "non-smoking" rooms, but no there was a heavy smoke odor there as well. Staff was not responsive at all to my concerns. The air condition system was inadequate and I do think that is where the cigarette smoke was coming from. The shower soap provided was quite caustic in nature and dryed your skin to distraction. The "bath tub" mentioned in room description was more like a large wash tub in size. The terrible rating I am giving is being generous.

Excellent boutique hotel with lovely amenities and additions such as free bottled water, pump packs of good quality shampoo, conditioner and body soaps - cotton swab packs (earbuds), disposable toothbrushes, razors, complimentary disposable slippers and free wifi and wired internet for laptops. The hotel however is difficult to find. I caught a taxi from Shin-Osaka station which is there the shinkansen stopped - be aware that although the hotel is a short walk from Osaka station, this is different than Shin-Osaka. I asked my taxi driver to take me to Hotel Premio Dojima - but I was dropped at a different hotel - be certain to ask for Hotel Vista Premio (in Dojima district) otherwise your taxi driver will take you to another hotel about 5 mins walk away. Be sure to carry a map (chizu) with you as the hotel is very hard to find if returning the first few times back at the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel for non-families. There is a Family Mart convenience store downstairs which is reasonably priced. The only negative I found was there was no microwave cooking / reheating food facilities at the hotel, however the friendly staff at reception reheated my take away meal for me without question!

revolting! The bathroom smelled really damp (urine) and sour, the tide marks in the bath which meant unclean! Smoke permeated air conditioning, mould surrounding base of bathroom mirror, and lack of hanging space and a totally unfriendly atmosphere. Never again!

We stayed here and expected a pretty decent hotel stay but were a little disappointed. The hotel staff are lovely and actually checked us in early which was one of the nice parts. The room was very noisy and we were only given two pillows which we thought was a bit skimpy. I wouldn’t stay here again as there are many many hotels in Osaka that wouldn’t be a lot better.

Staying for 1 night, the hotel offered a very clean and sufficient place for sleep and relaxation. At the ground floor, you have a convenient store and a lot of nearby places to eat authentic Japanese foods. Staff is very friendly and speaks English well.
