Hyatt Regency Osaka has great facilities and is close to the Aquarium and Universal Studios.
The hotel offer a free shuttle service to Osaka Station takes 25 minutes
( main bullet trains come into Shin- Osaka station which is only a 4 minute train journey) which is useful.
The free bus to Universal operates from the hotel and leaves at 0830 am returning at 1930 however it's only AUD50 to jump in a cab one way. The swimming pool and Sauna ( Onsen ) are worth the experience and if you can afford it upgrade to rooms with regency club access which is open from 0600-2200 daily free coffee , nibbles and soft drinks plus breakfast ( good choices available ) , afternoon tea and cocktails and food from 1730 to 1930 , we ate in the hotel it was that good with very good authentic Japanese and international food in the regency club. Rooms probably need a refurbished but when you are out and about all day it doesn't really matter. The hotel is not in central Osaka it's right at the port area out of town but getting around is easy and overall this was still value for money. Views from the Regency Club are fantastic as are the staff in the lounge.

We have stayed at this property since 2008. It is so great to receive the same great services then and now. There are so many favorites in this hotel and i will start with the breakfast. One of the best spreads of east and west plus hot stations availble. And there's the club lounge. Upon entering the club lounge the receptionist are friendly, helpful, and warm. The view at the lounge is amazing especially during sun rise and sunset. There are a good assortment of food, beverages, and snacks available.
Room is always clean as well as the common areas.
Great services throughout the hotel with freindly, courteous staff. Although the location is away from the city center the hotel does offer a shuttle bus to Osaka station every 30 minutes.

We truly enjoy our stay each time at the Hyatt Regency Osaka, it is our home away from home.
Thank you Hyatt Osaka!

I stayed in several hotels in Japan and I have to say the Osaka Hyatt Regency is the best by far! I have also stayed in several other Hyatt Regency’s in different parts of the world and I’ve got to say this one is my favorite. The location isn’t the best, since it’s quite far form the center of the city. However, there is a subway station within walking distance, so traveling to touristic spots isn’t difficult. The view is totally amazing. It overlooks the Osaka bay and it looks beautiful at night. The hotel also offers free shuttle service from Osaka Station to the hotel and viceversa. Staff is amazing and the facilities are very modern and pretty. The food in the Hyatt regency club is also very good. They have a wide variety of options ranging from traditional Japanese breakfast choices to more Western choices.

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Osaka, and I have to say I was really impressed with the facility. It was classic Hyatt at its best. The interior space was just spectacular in every sense of the word. The size and grandeur of the public spaces are impressive. Given that the hotel is in the middle of a convention center it has mazes of halls, break-out rooms, and other spaces for virtually every conceivable purpose.

Check-in is done in an extremely spacious area. You’ll get a good sense from the pics. The staff is courteous, and it being an American hotel, most of the staff speaks English (to one degree or another). I had reserved a Club Room which was nice (25th floor), and the views of the port area were amazing and interesting. The hotel itself was not busy at all, but as is typical in Japan, everyone who was staying on the same floor was bunched together. The room itself was quite nice. the bed was big, firm, and comfortable. The bathroom was killer, and it was nice to see a proper sized bathtub, which I took advantage of. Closet space was very nice.

One of the benefits of being on the Club floor is access to the Club Lounge, which serves great snacks throughout the day and more ‘real’ food in the evenings. The food was definitely good and you can leave there with a contented stomach. The space is beautiful and the views are intoxicating at night.

The included breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was an amazing buffet spread in a beautiful space. If you skip the breakfast you’re making a serious mistake!

Overall, I had a really great experience at the Hyatt. I love seeing these major hotels in other countries, as they’re generally fantastic, which is certainly the case here. If you’re attending a conference or convention in the area, and this is one of your hotel options…well, you better snatch that opportunity. You’ll love it, I’m sure.

Hope this helps.

Hyatt Regency Osaka, I had mix feeling writing this review many contemplation on this property.
Along with the atmosphere of my stay I must “ A Silent Fortress” why do I make this statement. The hotel location is not the best 25 mins away from city center, however I am already of this fact so it doesn’t bother me. As a matter of fact I appreciate the quietness that is away from the busting street. The hotel provide a complimentary shuttle bus to Osaka station every hour.
The rooms are not new or updated but it boast a generous comfortable size. Good size cabinet, useful drawers and spacious refrigerator. Amenities provided are basic and sufficient. Now the 4 STARS are reviews are for the people who work at Hyatt Regency Osaka THEY give their best service. I saw with my eyes when you ask for a taxi they will run out to get it for you. The staff never fail to even greet or even a gentle bow to almost everyone.
The hotel is huge and it’s just almost silent when you move around. The only time that is full of people is breakfast only.
Lastly, the regency club on 28th floor is well curated and the 90 degree angle view is a beautiful sight. I am unsure why very soon it’s no longer with Hyatt but still while it’s within Hyatt just want to say Thank You for silently working and giving your best. Keep going!

Three WOW reasons why this could be the best surprise sleeper gem option for Osaka for international visitors
We gave this hotel five stars and two thumbs up
1. For Hyatt loyalists. Fantastic Hyatt elite status recognition. Upgraded room. To fantastic 80 square meter corner premium room. While the hotel is tired the room still sparkles. Massive dressing space and bathroom. Outstanding regency club. I stayed in many excellent regency and grand clubs in the Hyatt franchise. But this combines the top floor vibe of the grand Hyatt Hong Kong, and the food quality of Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. So this Hyatt Regency property punches way above its weight.
2. For drivers. Free parking ! With complimentary in and out privileges. That is an unusual perk in major city hotel and especially for major cities. We drove and free parking over multiple nights adds up. Big thumbs up. And if you don’t want to drive they have a shuttle service to Osaka station. And the metro is walking distance.
3. Value seekers. Yes the as many remarked the property is old and hope the property owners provide a much needed make over renovations of the rooms and corridors. However, the public spaces are impressive marble and dark wood. Lounge is Spectacular. Service is excellent. Great English and due to location and age of the property it’s price point is significantly lower than comparable hotels.

I can’t wait for this hotel to go through renovation. This would be an even brighter gem.

I arrived pretty late however Kimoto san from Front Desk help me with very efficient and clear check in process.

The room is spacious and everything is in working order, shame that I couldn't spend more time roaming around in hotel facilities and their outdoor swimming pool was closed due to season changed.

In room dinning menu was scanned through QR code for "touchless" service and the food was great!

would love to come back on Summer to enjoy more hotel facilities

Thank you so much for a great stay

The poor access is the biggest issue of this hotel. No matter you want to enjoy USJ or explore the center of Osaka, the location of this hotel determines that it costs you at least an hour to commute to the major attractions and central locations. Neither the public transportation nor the shuttle service find you any convenience.

Now coming to the room. I heard someone bumping to the floor and making noise almost all night even they upgraded my room already. The sound isolation is apparently terrible.

The only thing I find good was the hospitality of the front desk who did leave me a good first impression.

Overall, I don't recommend this hotel for a private travel stay in Osaka even if you're globalist in the loyalty program.

This is a large hotel in a high rise building. Large and comfortable room, some room has nice harbor view. The club regency is located on top of building, 28 floor, the view of the harbor is very nice. My corner suite room is large and very comfortable. The food served in breakfast is very nice too. The hotel is easily accessible from kix via airport limousine bus, and the hotel offers free shuttle to downtown Osaka in every 30 min.

Stayed here for one night prior to flying out at Kansai because this was the only Hyatt hotel in Osaka but also because I wanted to try tatami suite. I honestly had very little expectation as it sounded gimmicky but I was surprised to the upside. Yes this was a room that tries to emulate japanese house so it has fake outdoor and all but the experience of living in tatami suite while enjoying the typical hotel amenity was pretty cool and we loved it.

aside from that,
good: rate was very reasonable, Kansai airport was within quick drive vs driving from Osaka. Even better, there's regular bus that runs in the middle of the day. has convenience store underneath the hotel. Tatami suite room was unique experience that I'd recommend anyone who wants to experience it.

things to watch out for:
The location is pretty far from the downtown Osaka and the shuttle from Osaka station to the hotel was both too small for the line and ran pretty different from the announced schedule. Just worked for our favor but had we missed that bus, The breakfast area was pretty crowded for its size. the bus to Kansai does not run early in the morning at the time of stay and it was inconvenient (had to take a taxi instead).

overall, I think the place was satisfactory for quick stay near Osaka before flying out and we'd certainly do so again if we explore Kansai region again.

If you intend to visit USJ and then go straight to Kansai Airport, staying at Osaka Hyatt makes senses. If you intend to go shopping in town, day trips to Kobe/Kyoto/Narai, then avoid Osaka Hyatt at all cost !! If you always stays in cat 1 hyatt hotels, than Osaka Hyatt seems like a 5 star hotel to you. If you always stay in cat 4/5/6/7 hyatt hotels, Osaka Hyatt would be horrible to you.
