Hotel Hankyu Respire Osaka stands out for its modern design and practical amenities, featuring themed artwork that contributes to a stylish atmosphere highly favored by guests. Its central location near major shopping and transportation options is a highlight, though navigating the area can be tricky for some.
Rooms are typically found to be clean and comfortable, but there are occasional concerns regarding maintenance and cleanliness. While the hotel offers appreciated views and amenities, the impersonal service and the perceived lack of value for the price have been points of contention among travelers.

Detailed Reviews
This is the second stay at Hankyu Respire Hotel. We picked this hotel for it's excellent location. It is adjacent to Osaka Station which serves both the JR line and metro. A floor of restaurants is literally a escalator ride away as are other eateries nearby. The Airport Bus terminal to Kansai Airport is around the corner. They didn't open up check-in until almost 3 pm so it seemed that early check-ins were not allowed. The line for check-in was quite long as they were setting up the self-check-in kiosks. However, they directed some to the staffed counter and the line progressed. The Respire held our luggage for a week that we sent from Tokyo. The held luggage system was fast and efficient. The room was comfortable with the expected amenities: bottled water, hot water pot, etc. Especially appreciated was the closet to hang clothes, iron/ironing board, and separate rooms for the bath/shower and toilet. On this second stay we opted for a lower floor which turned out to be fine since the lobby is on the 9th floor of the building. We rarely had to wait for an elevator in spite of the number of rooms. The little contact we had with staff were all cordial and welcoming.

The hotel is located in front of Osaka Station, right in front of the bus stop from Itami Airport, so it's extremely convenient. It's in a corner of a huge shopping complex, so it's a great location for eating and shopping.
The hotel design is modern and stylish. There is no face-to-face check-in, and I was surprised that I was forced to enter various information using a machine. The rooms are small and the tables are minimal, so it's not enough to work in the room. The staff are friendly, but there are many inexperienced young and foreign staff, so hospitality cannot be expected.
More than 90% of the hotel's users are Chinese tourists, and there are very few Westerners, so Chinese is spoken everywhere, and Chinese-style elevators are prioritized, so is it an added value to feel like you're traveling in China even though you're in Japan!? Lol
The hotel's location and design are its selling points, and it seems to be geared towards foreign visitors to Japan. If you're here for tourism or business and don't need a lot of things, I recommend it if you're looking for a neat and easily accessible hotel.

The good about this hotel is its location: fantastic and right smack in the middle of everything you need. Subway and JR just a short connecting bridge away, a mall right below that houses every convenience you need with family mart, three (!!!) Starbucks and food options aplenty. Hotel room is also spotlessly clean.
However, I do feel the hotel can do much better in many areas of small touches. The lack of a personal touch really didn't hit me well as this isn't even a budget hotel or along the lines of Holiday Inn Express. Check in and checkout was all through terminals (making me feel I was checking in for a budget airline at the airport instead) and whenever you approached the staff, they just kept directing you to the terminals, politely refusing to help any further. You can go through the entire hotel stay without even talking to a single hotel staff. Also quite rigid in other areas: I had arrived around 2.30pm and was perfectly fine to wait for 3pm check in time (as they wouldn't allow any early check in), but the staff saw my luggage and kept insisting on taking them away from me into the luggage storeroom despite me saying I was perfectly fine with just waiting at the lobby with my luggage. But no, I was just shoved a number tag and my luggage was whisked away. After check in, I had come down to ask if they could me make a phone call to check on a reservation but before I could even finish my sentence, I was replied with "no we cannot call". So there's basically no concierge of sorts.
Within the hotel room, while spotlessly clean, a couple of things could be improved. the pillows given were so small and soft. I am already a petite person and even I kept rolling off the pillow when I slept because it was so small. The dustbins also had such narrow openings that you cannot even throw a Starbucks cup in without having to fold and bend the cup. I wonder what purpose the dustbin really serves. They do need to beef up their wifi as well, because my iphone kept showing signal indicating poor security that I at no point wanted to use it. The lift system also can be improved as the lifts serving 9th floor (lobby) to the 1st and 2nd floors of the mall were often jam packed with long queues of people waiting.

The local travel agent in Japan selected Hotel Hankyu Respire Osaka for our 2Nights stay in Osaka to catch our connecting flight back to Singapore after staying in Kyoto for our 5 golf games.
The hotel is huge in terms of capacity with 1000+ rooms. The check in is at Level 9. The hotel is in a central location and connected to a huge Osaka Umeda shopping complex with department stores and shopping centers.
On L8 is a large area offering many choices for food.
The rooms are good size ones. The layout is well designed. The amenities like tooth brush, shavers and tea are on self service basis on L9.
One major setback for me is the hassle to move my luggage and golf bag from Ground Level to L9 for the hotel checking in.
Checking out was a bit easier as we had time to figure out the best way to move our luggage to Ground
level. I do not recommend this hotel to be used for golfers as portal service is non existent.

Would have rated the hotel higher but - this hotel has 1000 rooms and has very large tour groups. Do not try to check in before 5 pm otherwise you will wait in long queues to check in. A hotel of this size advertises they have a self service laundry - with 1000 rooms and only 8 wash/dryer machines it is impossible to attempt to use the laundry. This is the case for any time of the day or night. If the hotel offers so few laundry facilities, then it should consider policing the use. Many times on the information available on the TV in the room it showed the cycle was completed more than 2 hours ago. Please don’t advertise this amenity if you can’t manage the use. It was difficult getting to the hotel from the station even with the information on the hotel website. There were roadworks and entrances obstructed so the images on the website were very different.

The hotel is in an excellent location. You can take a taxi directly to the 9th floor from the ground level. Although the room cannot be taken before 3 o'clock, the staff immediately informed that luggage can be temporarily stored. There was a problem at the self-service check-in machine after three o'clock, but the staff also noticed it on the iPad and led us to deal with it at the counter. We booked the connecting room on the lower floor and understood that there was no view, but the price was reasonable during the peak season. The room is not very big but the space is sufficient and the facilities are satisfactory. The hotel is connected to Links Umeda where you can eat, buy and play without having to walk around👍🏼

The hotel occupies levels 9-25 of the building with the first 7 floors being retail and the 8th floor being dining options. The hotel was within a 10 walk from the train station with access via a street overpass. Again a self check in / check out hotel with staff available for assistance. There was a restaurant on the 9th floor and it was very good - not excessively expensive but not cheap. Our room was an ok size - clean with the usual slippers, dressing gown, fridge, iron all provided. They were happy to store our luggage until we were ready to go to the airport - even though we'd already checked out.

Impersonal hotel but in the center of the business district of Umeda, whose charm competes with that of La Défense.
Small but modern rooms, comfortable, well soundproofed, remarkably arranged and very well equipped with pajamas and real slippers. Unfortunately, there is no storage outside a cramped closet.
Check-in, automated like any airline, is confusing but efficient. Overall satisfactory service but quickly overwhelmed. Pricey and medium quality food; fortunately, hotel guests get 20% off the menu.
Decent breakfast, unfortunately noisy restaurant room and it is not uncommon to have to queue even at 7am, which reflects some disorganization.
Gym too small, to forget as soon as there are 3 people.
Finally, the access coming from the station is really problematic because the indications are fanciful, when by chance they exist! One tip: get out on the surface as quickly as possible, on any street and orient yourself from there, otherwise you will circle for hours.

A newish hotel with good hardware (modern rooms, good Twin room layout, great amenities) at a superb location behind Osaka JR station. Also connected via the red Midosuji subway line.
Our twin room, 2012, on the 20th floor was well designed with separated bathroom (with a deep tub!), toilet and wash basin in 3 different areas. Two huge mirrors! Though room is not large there is still space for a small dinning table, 2 chairs & a long writing desk, a big Smart TV - all thanks to good interior design!
Arrived early to leave luggage behind and return at 2.15pm. Allowed check in at 2.30pm which was quite good for a Japanese hotel. Amenities like coffee, tea, toothbrush set, comb & razor are self service at the 9th floor lobby. No shower caps or cotton slabs seen though. Slippers & pajamas in room.
With tons of restaurants on the 8th floor and B1 & a reasonably priced supermarket at B1 (can dine in), then why only 3 stars for our 2 nights stay? Well, i would normally rate a hotel based on our quality of sleep as hotels are supposed to enable us to have a restful night, am i right?
Firstly, the external sound proofing is only average at best. Even on the 20th floor, we could hear motor bikes and sirens. The pillows offered are also way too low, offering no neck support! I resort to placing two big towels below it, it was still very low/flat! Lastly, the intelligent WC is not smart at all …as it automatically flushes during the night either on its own or after someone urinates, inevitably waking up your partner ….
Needless to say, we did not sleep well here, affecting our sakura viewing and shopping trips the next day. Would not return for sure.

Great nearby new hotel near Osaka Station and is opposite to the Airport Bus Station. The lobby is on the 9th floor. The 8th floor is dedicated to affordable dining of over 20 restaurants which is linked to Yodabashi department store. There is a supermarket in the basement and is linked to Osaka station. McDonalds, starbucks, FamilyMart, Uniqlo are located in the building. It is walking distance to the Umeda Sky Building. Washing/drying facilities are located on floor 24 however these are in demand due to number of guests however their running times data and status on these high tech machines are accessible on your TV in your room.

If I were you, I'd opt for the airport limousine bus, namely because there are porters who will help load your luggage (and they will unload it for you upon your arrival) Travel time would be around 50-60 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. The Hankyu Respire is a short 5-10 minute walk from the bus station. No stairs involved.
They will do it all for you. Just take your bag down and have cash and they will fill the forms out for you.
