Stayed four nights at hotel from 200615 to 230615. Easy access from Kansai airport to hotel, 1000 yen promotion train price per person / 1100 yen when leaving hotel to airport (airport to Namba station then change train to Higobashi station/exit directly at hotel door step). Beside convenient train transport, taking taxi (save a lot of time) to nearby attractions is cheap for a family of four (between 760 yen to Osaka station for Pokémon center / 16 floors Daimaru shopping center / 1000 to 2000 yen to Nipponbashi for comics figures, games, toys etc. / Shinsaibashi shopping belt / Umeda sky building and about 2200 yen to Universal Studios (do not travel by highway, it will cost you about 5400 yen including toll charges). On your way to Kansai airport, remember to visit Rinku premium outlets for cheap and good quality buys / wheel ferris ride at Rinku-town station (one stop before airport and will only cost you another 210 yen train fee).

I expected the rooms to be small, afterall, this is Japan. To any Average Americans, please do not expect the size of the regular room and the bed to be North American Standard. The double bed is only 120cm wide and 190cm in length. If you would still complain about there isnt any room for unpacking your luggages, may I suggest you to unpack in the relatively-wide hallways.

We stayed in the Hotel for a week as we visited the Kansai region.

We chose Osaka as our home base since it is much nearer to the Kansai International Airport; more accessible to various train options (JR trains/shinkansen, Keihan Railways, etc), and more affordable hotel rates, among others.

APA Hotel Osaka Higobashi Ekimae has a very good location, it is just steps away from the Higobashi Metro Station (which goes to Namba/Dotonburi); and 10-12 mins away from the Yodoyabashi Station for the Keihan Railways; and to Osaka-Umeda Station/Shin-Osaka Station, for Osaka Castle, etc.

As for the Hotel, the area is safe; the check-in was fine; no issues. The Hotel room is small as expected. The bathroom area is small, again as expected, but the amenities are good, and replenished daily. The room space was very tight because we had lots of luggage (coming from another country); and we had to step on our luggage to get to the bathroom (very funny!). We left the hotel for one night for Hiroshima/Miyajima and it was fine--no issues encountered.

There are small shops nearby--like Family Mart and 7-11. Also, several small restaurants are located across the Hotel. We went to the noodle restaurant and it was alright..if you're too tired to go out for dinner.

There are nearby museums and art galleries within walking distance, which we did not explore for lack of time.Taxis can be hailed right in front of the Hotel, too.

Over-all, it was a good stay; we will stay again here--if we choose to stay in Osaka for its strategic location.

Thank you for staying with us at APA HOTEL〈OSAKAHIGOBASHI-EKIMAE〉 Oue hotel is located within 15minutes walking distance from JR OSAKA station and also it is easy access to the KANSAI International Airport. APA has three major concepts which are `high quality` `high function` `eco-friendly` what we call `New Urban Style Hotel.` Although rooms are compact, there are high-quality equipments in each room such as big screen TV,original wide bed `Cloud fit`and high grade amenities:toothbrush and razor,They make guest`s stay comfortable. Thank you for your kind review. I look forward to seeing you again.

Staying in another APA before spending days in this location truly set the bar in which this location failed to even come close. Let me start with I never felt welcomed in this establishment. Yes the staff was polite but not friendly, never a smile. My daughter later pointed out quite a few of the front desk/ lobby employees had trainee badges on but being new in the role shouldn’t prevent smiling in the least. The leaflet in the room stated shipping was available however when I asked about it I was told no. So I figured maybe there was a barrier in translation. Then I asked about luggage shipping like the previous APA location I stayed in and was again told it wasn’t an option. Not once did anyone downstairs offer any assistance to a solution. It’s clear I’m not from the area, however as a concierge more knowledgeable of the area someone could’ve said we don’t offer the services you need but go here or call there. I figured it out on my own but a little assistance could’ve saved me the mental anguish and stress I went through. The television / Wi-Fi stopped working every night around 10 pm. The onsen was very small. The breakfast was tasty and the hotel was close to a train station, but those were the only high points. Never was I ever so ready to check out of an establishment,

The lobby is filled with Chinese and Korean tourists and the room is filled with extreme right wing propaganda. Very anti USA, Chinese and Korean literature placed in rooms. Not fun reading... I came here to relax after a hard day working and don't want some right wing wacko's views in my room.

We have booked this hotel since most of the hotels were already booked or their price were very expensive. The only advantage for this hotel is the direct subway access .
The rooms are very old decoration and very small (even compared to Japan standard). The staff isn't helpful and the bed was the worst bed ever... it was better to sleep on the carpet (if we could) - you fell that you sleep on stones

This hotel has NO A/C, the room is extremely hot, it feels like in a steam room, and the front desk want you to open the window, cause its not hot outside in November! well, we don't need A/C all day long, just want to have the option if room turns hot!
The room is small, with a feel like a cruise ship, bathroom is 5 inches up, so if you wake up at night using the bathroom, WATCH OUT, you might trip and fall!
They claim hotel is connect to the subway exit, but they did not tell you its three stories stairs to walk up to the exit of the subway, so imaging carrying your luggage walking up 3 flats and come inside your hot and steamy room
Location is bad, in the middle of nowhere, causing money to go everywhere, unless you come here for business, don't care about spend company money.
Overall, sleeping quality is poor, room is unbearable, location is terrible, room design is dangerous, trust me, you will regret like me if you stay here, avoid this hotel at any cost!

This may be a good hotel for Japanese businessmen, but is unsuitable for Western couples. The rooms are very small even for Japanese hotels and the "semi-double" bed was not much bigger than a normal single bed. To make matters worse, the air-conditioning could only be operated on heating or fan cycle and the room temperature made it impossible to sleep.

First the good things; the hotel has an excellent location. It is one metro stop from JR Osaka Station on the blue Yotsobashi subway line, exit 3 of the station leads you right to the door of the hotel.
There are some nice bars and restaurants within walking distance. When you leave the hotel main doors go left across the bridge towards downtown, you cross two bridges actually and there are loads of good places. Or, go immediately left as you leave, before the bridge and again there are some nice quiet places. There is a supermarket directky across or about 100m to the right as you leave the hotel.
The bed was comfortable and the hotel was really really quiet making it a very good place to sleep.
The bad; the room was tiny. So small that the only place to lay out your suitcases on the bed. No room to manoeuvre at all. Wouldn't like to be stuck in on a rainy day! Also the bar in the hotel wasn't conducive to relaxing. It was tiny and uncomfortable. There are lots of places around but it would have been nice to have a place to relax in before going out. Theres a terrace restaurant yes, but no nice bar in the lobby area.
Still, I enjoyed my stay and would choose thiscplace again fue to its accessibility and that it was clean and safe.
