The Gracery in Kyoto Sanjo was a very plesant hotel, with unusually spacious rooms for Japanese conditions. The hotel was located on a crowded shopping street, which was not to be felt when staying inside the rooms. It was surprisingly quiet and peaceful, which is a fact we cherished a lot. It was very much suited to explore the city for Kyoto newbies and hence we would definitely recommend it to other tourists as well. I didn't give it the full amount of points for the simply reason that it could have been somewhat more individualistic and special, but other than that all the other boxed were ticked for me! Fond memories!

Couldn't be happier, hotel had everything we needed plus more. Room was bigger than expected, had everything from nightgown, slippers, bottled water, bath salts,shampoo/conditioner, body wash, hand soap, toothbrush/paste, razor etc etc. Room exceptionally clean, staff very friendly & even a robot to greet you at reception. Coin laundry, ice machine available. Hotel has a north & south tower. We where in th south with apparently opened mid 2017. There is a lounge on the 2nd floor of north tower you can bring your own drinks & snacks between 6-10pm. Excellent position right amongst a shopping district, shrines, restaurants, attractions, izakaya's & a awesome market Couldn't not have picked a better position & hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

I love this hotel - and I'm fussy! This was my fourth stay - and my hotel of choice for my next stay (subject to getting a competitive price). I can open the window and get some fresh air, ask and receive a room at the end of the corridor away from the elevator. It has all the ammenities I like: kettle, fridge, free daily bottled water, safe, and second door shutting off the entry door from the sleeping area. And it's in a great location.

The hotel is very conveniently located for tourists. It is connected to Teramachi and close to Nishiki Market. You can catch buses nearby as well. It is NOT convenient to Kyoto Station - you’ll likely want to take a taxi which costs around ¥1,100 or so. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful with enough English to get by. There is a small laundry onsite as well. The rooms are slightly larger than a Japanese business hotel but you won’t want to have a lot of luggage with you. The toilet and baths are separate, which his nice, and they offer an iron and small refrigerator in your room along with the usual safe. No in-room movies though the internet is good enough to stream YouTube. Breakfast under COVID rules is not the most pleasant experience but the food is fine. It does not seem to vary by day - they offered the same selection for the 5 nights we were there. It is modern and clean and we would recommend it.

I stayed in a room in the North building on the sixth floor and found it to be a really quiet room overlooking Teramachi and Kyoto. The room was really big for Japanese standards and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The queen size bed was very comfortable and I appreciated having a small seated area to relax after a day of exploring.

The hotel doesn't have dining facilities but the central location makes up for this. Within very short walking distance from the hotel are several cafes, restaurants and convenience stores. A vegan restaurant is around 15 minutes walk from the hotel and is well worth visiting.

Gion is a 20 minute walk from the hotel, Nijo-jo castle is 20 minutes and the imperial palace is 15 minutes by foot. The train and subway station is easily reachable from the hotel and this allows the city to be explored easily.

I would return to stay in this hotel in future. If you want more information about this hotel or Kyoto, feel free to visit my blog.

The location of this hotel is so good. It’s worth staying here just for that. The room is small, clean, and very standard for Japan. Pros: coin laundry room, cafeteria open at all hours where you can have free soda and coffee, 5 minutes walk from the alley of cute little bars and restaurants. Downside, we were surprised that the receptionist we worked with didn’t speak any English, but we were able to communicate nevertheless with hand gestures etc. The hotel is also across several buildings, so it can take a minute to get your bearings.

The hotel is located within an area of covered shopping arcades, so your bus or taxi will drop you off on the main road and you will need to walk a couple of blocks of pedestrian street. However, this is an advantage when you want to explore the shops! There are two towers of hotel rooms and my room was in the newer one. It was the nicest hotel room I stayed at in Japan. The entrance to the hotel is very tastefully done with meaningful placement of landscaping and artwork. Breakfast is a delicious buffet. I would definitely return to this hotel.

As almost every hotel room in Japan is tiny, we didn’t expect much. Just a bit sad since we cannot arrange baby cot for our baby.

The staff here is friendly and nice enough. Do not expect them to speak much English.

Location very nice, it’s easy to go anywhere. There’s a 7/11 right in the first floor so you can buy basically anything you need. The food around hotel also interesting.

Amazing location, right in the center of the city. Shopping, sights, transportation, and food. Bakeries in Kyoto are bomb. Just outside the hotel there is a convenient store where you can get drinks, snacks, and even a decent meal if you get in late.
The room was excellent. Spacious room with a small table and couch, clean of course, and Japanese style bathroom with a wash area and a soaker tub.
We had a long trip so we had clothes to wash, and they had coin laundry downstairs. Dryer was a bit linty, but still clean clothes. For smokers, there is a smoking room downstairs also. Front desk was great, they spoke very good English.

Really centrally located hotel with comfortable well equipped rooms located in two blocks. Very useful and inexpensive self serve washing machine and drier available on the ground floor. Check in/out a little chaotic and semi automated with machines and there was a small city tax to pay. It is in the largely pedestrianised area so you need to wander off to the main drag to hail a cab or catch a bus to the train station

Sorry the Japanese are rather strict about number of kids. Kindly ask the hotel directly. But they are rather small beds by the way. Hope I am not too late as I just logged in after a long time! sorry!
