Good value hotel at a great location about a 10 minute walk to Fushimi Inari Shrine. Rooms are small but have everything you need- the windows are able to open which is great! Very clean and every room has a desk. Breakfast was very basic- a tiny buffet (mainly with Japanese style food)- probably not what most European/American travellers are...

Fantastic staff, modern (but small rooms- as you would expect in Japan). The morning buffet, although all you can eat, was overpriced for what it is. It would have been cheaper to head to the local shop down the road however I suppose that's what you pay for convenience. As for the privacy- the bathroom door was glass. Yes, if...

My husband and I stayed here for a few days in December 2016 for a meeting at Ryokoku University, which is close by. The hotel is "Japanese style" in that the rooms are VERY small and there are (essentially) no views. But the beds are comfortable (albeit firm), the bathrooms clean, and the breakfast buffet delicious, with a wide range...

Stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk from the nearest subway. The Fushimi Inari temple is about a 10-15 minute walk. The hotel room was compact and the bathroom was small, but had a bath. The staff were friendly and helpful. Its a bit far from the center of Kyoto if you are looking for...

This hotel is about 800metre walk to Inari Station (FYI, Inari station is 2 stops away from Kyoto. Take the JR line on platform 10 at Kyoto station). Although it is super near to Fushimi Inari shrine (which is located just outside the station), there is nothing much around this hotel. Family mart convenient store is just opposite. The hotel...

The day I checked in, this hotel used my credit card details to pay someone else's booking (in addition to mine, obviously). Near $1000USD. No one was willing or able to assist. I've had to launch a fraud enquiry with my bank.

The attendant was super friendly at check in, the room was super small but I assumed it was normal, and the waiter at the hotel restaurant was hesitant to serve us and pretty rude because we're American so we left and ate elsewhere. Probably wouldn't stay there again.

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighbourhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
