We stayed at the B Kyoto because of its location and the good reviews it received on trip adivsor. The hotel is in a great location but there are several shortcomings to the standard of service in the hotel and also issues with cleanliness. The biggest issue was that my 8 year old daughter was severely bitten by bed bugs...

We stayed here for 3 nights. Really expensive since the room is super small, just like the bath. You cannot turn inside the shower. Heating system was impossible to turn down, so we were melting inside, needed to turn it off. On the last nigh, the hotel decided to give us a little concert at 4 am with a Bose...

This hotel is within walking distance to many main tourist attractions. It is also conveniently located close to many bus stops. At the same time, my hotel room is facing a narrow alley with great views and very quiet.

This hotel was fine for a short stay, it was small but clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful. One negative - the bed is so hard it's almost impossible to get comfortable. Breakfast was reasonable and covered many choices. The room was very hot, I don't think the thermostat was working correctly and staffed didn't seem to understand.

We really enjoyed our stay at The b Kyoto Sanjo. The bed was very big for a Japanese hotel, and really comfy. The little sitting area was a nice touch. The only negative was that the windows let in a strong cold draft (that came through even when the curtains were drawn) so we had to put rolled up clothes...

This is a great value hotel, in an excellent location for sightseeing - you can walk to Gion, temples etc very easily, and you are right next to buses and trains / subway for travelling across Kyoto, and a few minutes from the KIX airport limousine bus. Staff friendly and professional, rooms comfortable and very reasonably priced compared to other...

We arrived at the hotel on 25th March for 2 nights but upon checking in, we were told by the front desk that the room's hot water tank is not functioning. What happened after this was an experience which we will never forget in our lives. Front Desk Manager Mr Ryo Murashita explained to us that he will bring us...

Being close to 24hr market, subway, riverbank, restaurants and bars. It was perfect where we can walk everywhere. The breakfast are combination of Japanese and western cusines. This start our morning everyday with energy. Everything was great besides the bed. It's just a bit stiff. The pillows are good. Honestly we are constantly out and about so it doesn't matter...

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
