The hotel is located near Kyoto train station so exploring the city wont be problem. The price is relatively cheap and the rooms are bigger knowing that hotel rooms in Japan are small. It's very near Kyoto train station; 5-min walk. Also located beside Kyoto Tower (but you can't see it from your room), and also near to Yodobashi Camera, for your Japanese multimedia/appliance shopping. However, the rooms are very small. Not a value-for-money accomodation. Only one person can walk inside the room at a time. Barely to nil space to put your...

Thank you for staying with our hotel and expressing your concern to us. First, I`m sorry that we were not able to guide all guests fairly. We decided assigning rooms by guest`s reservation contents. We visited during cherry blossom season, the room rates are very high. The location close to Kyoto station is really convenient. We did expect the rooms to be small, struggled to find place to even open our luggage. And the rooms are quite dated.

The hotel is in a great location but I'm not sure if it adds up to a European 1*Hotel. Terrible. Extremely Small, dirty and stinky rooms, you feel like In a budget Hotel in one of the post communist countries. Would never go back and would not reccomend. Not for that price. It's worth max 35-40€ a night.

Quite pricey for twin room, no breakfast, shower head spoilt, no complimentary parking for scooter. Plus point: Location. Good! Near to Kyoto station and Kyoto Tower. Received Kyoto tower discount coupons and 10% discount coupons for shopping at the tower souvenir shops at level 1. Staff was quite friendly. Able to speak little English.

Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
