Location: This hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the station down a small alley way. However I had trouble finding it initially as there are several little alley ways that weren't on my guide book map. From here I was able to walk to all the attractions in south east Kyoto including Kiyomizu-dera (about 20 mins), Gion, Choin-in, and...

The location is the best 5 min walking to Kyoto station, It can't be called a professional hotel the reason --> The hotel is owned by Japanese lady and she is running the show with her little bit English speaking staff, its definitely below furnished place but we were very clear what we wanted Bit bigger than Tiny Tripple room,...

This is the 4th time I've stayed here, I choose it whenever I plan on using the train for travel in & around Kyoto as it is only 3 minutes on foot from the station. The rooms are basic tatami rooms or western-style rooms, and there are plenty of amenities- tea & hot water pot, TV, yukatas, shampoo & soap,...

The White Hotel is in a great location right outside Kyoto Station, although it is a little difficult to find at first, and I recommend calling ahead for directions. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with futon bedding. If you don't know how to lay out a futon, they will help you. The ensuite bathrooms are small, as in pretty...

Family-run hostel 5-10 min from Kyoto station. Traditional Japanese-style tatami and futon, it's a good alternative to expensive ryokans if you wanna try futon. Pros: 1. Excellent location in a quiet little alley. 2. Very comfortable futon! All of us agreed it was the comfiest bed we've ever slept in. 3. Internet available. You have to get a LAN cable...

We just checked in... The lady at the front desk is not at all friendly (not only in English, but also in fluent, polite, humble Japanese). This is my first time using this hotel, and it'll be the last time for sure. Pros: distance from Kyoto station (5 min walk), free Internet (bring your ethernet cable; otherwise, it costs 100JPY),...

We stayed for 3 nights and paid usd95 for 2 people in a japanese style room. The hotel is close to the JR kyoto station in a dingy alley. It is more like a dormitory than a hotel. The room is old and the bathroom is so small that it is a joke. You have to lay out your own...

The only good point about this hostal (that is definitely not a hotel) is the location (next to kyoto station). Too expensive (60 eur per night, 2 pax) for what they offer, not very friendly, uncomfortable bed (japanese style, bed bugs included). I do not recommend to stay there and would not repeat ever.

Stayed here for 1 night - the reason being its proximity to the station. The website has a map and says it’s only a 5 mins walk but that is if you know where you are going, as the map does miss out a few streets so we ended up walking around in a bit of a circle but found...
