Kyoto White Hotel is a budget hotel which really gives top value for money. The location is good, a few minutes walk from the Kyoto Station. The rooms are good, with very comfy beds. The staff is helpful. I like it a lot!

I spent a week at the White Hotel. The location is wonderful, 2 minutes from train and bus station. The room - Japanese style - was perfectly equipped, everything clean and functioning. Very silent at any time. The staff is exceptional, Mr T. did his best to accommodate my needs and was always kind and helpful, the young lady at...

Stayed in this small hotel for one day only and have mixed feelings about it... Pros: - The location is quite close to JR Kyoto, I would say about 5 minutes walk. It is quite hard to find at first though because it is located in a small alley beside a parking lot. The area is quite and there are...

I stay here about once a year but like to re-review the places to ensure future guests that they are keeping their same decent standards. This little ryokan-style (Japanese inn) place is located on a quiet side street just 3 minutes on foot from Kyoto station. Rooms are small but comfortable enough, with clean, comfortable bedding (futons!). Amenities include TV,...

To be recommended for guest who look for cheap and well located and clean japaneese styled accomodation. I know, we stayed here for 3 enjoyable nights. Some specifc comments: - very friendly and helpful hotel staff (the ypung guy) who speaks very good english - the room was floored with the tatami, hence a strong straw smell but you should...

If you come to Kyoto White Hotel expecting a modern hotel or a traditonal Ryokan, you will be disappointed, because even though it calls itself hotel, it feels more like a guesthouse and even though it has tatami floors where you lay out your futon at night, it is not a beautiful Ryokan, but a functional guesthouse. On the one...

The location was great, really close to the train station. It was perfect to explore the area around Kyoto. We selected it specifically so that we could travel to Nara, come back to Kyoto, go to Koyasan, come back, then travel to Tokyo. The train station had a lots of places to eat, including an Isetan department store, which had...

I had booked this hotel because I was hoping for a more traditional Japanese ryokan experience, with tatami and futon bedding; this wasn’t quite that. Rather, the White Hotel reminds me more of an old fashioned apartment-styled building in Japan that happens to have tatami flooring, low table and floor sitting. The room itself is convenient, with amenities including fridge,...

The hotel is within 5 min of the train station, but hidden in an alley. This makes it a bit hard to find at first, but it makes it very quiet even though it is in the middle of a bustling metropolis. The room was very basic but clean and well taken care of. Given the prices of other hotels...

At the beginning the place looks a bit old and damaged but the room are okay. It is pretty cheap and staff really friendly. Location is just perfect everything around (metro station, starbucks, convinient stores etc..), you can also wash your clothes for free and there is a beer distributor inside ! If you go to Kyoto and are not...
