The hotel is quiet, beautiful and just cozy. It is definitely a 5 star experience the rooms are huge. The one only downside is that it is a bit out of the way from the city center. They do provide shuttle service to the local subway station but it's only available from 8:10AM - 9:10PM (pick up/drop off at exit... More

Stayed here three nights and had a great experience. We had a superior twin room and it was very spacious. Bathroom was also very big, with a large bath/shower stall. Breakfast buffet was great, with mostly western style foods.

I was attending a congress in Kyoto and I stayed at this beautiful hotel . The location is some what far from downtown but they provide a shuttle bus every 10-20 minutes to take you to the nearest metro station and from there you can reach any part of Kyoto. It is almost a 5 minute walk from the imperial... More

The Kyoto Hyatt Regency wasn't available so we went with Kyoto Brighton. Room was ok but lack attention to details. I found an used Kleenex next to my bed on the floor. Desk surface was dirty when checked in. Not much around the area. Was given one key card for 2 people. Was told afterwards that a plastic key card... More

This hotel is perfection! Every single aspect was beyond expectations, I was blown away!On a par with all the high end international brand hotels, don't dismiss this hotel because you haven't heard of it, it's luxurious and beautiful. 5* we were there on the weekend elegant Japanese women in kimonos having afternoon tea (and no not the dress-up Japanese style... The hotel has a nice atrium inside. The rooms are spaceous and well equipped. A bit far from the center, 15 minutes cab ride to the station. Public transport is not too close, but they have a shuttle service to the center.

We came for dinner on recommandation of our Relai & Château Ryokan and we are so disappointed ! The meat restaurant has no interest while proposing expensive set menu around 150 € / person. Also after main course we were asked to move out and pay immediately before we had to take desert in the horrible and noisy lobby. About... More

It's all here at the Brighton hotel in Kyoto. The room is very spacious and clean, the bathroom is fully equipped, the food at all the restaurants is wonderful; we ate too much! The service is good and concierge very helpful. Breakfast was included and both Japanese and Western menus were available. More than ample. When we required a taxi,... More

The hotel provided five star service from the doorman to the housekeeping staff. Everyone was extremely courteous and attentive to our needs. They were not satisfied until we were. The amenities are first class, thoughtful and plenty. Breakfasts (included) are extensive and well prepared. The concierge was always helpful in every way often anticipating our needs. Our room was large... More

We were concerned when we were told that the only room available was a Superior Double - the least expensive room. We were blown away. It was very spacious and well appointed. Some reviewers criticize the hotel's location. We loved it. It is in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. If you are looking for nightlife, it is a short... More

Staying in Nishijin District

Neighbourhood Profile
Nishijin District
A district with a long textile heritage, ancient Kyoto is still alive in the Nishijin District. Studded with its weaving factories, tea houses, and onsen, the neighborhood is charming and peaceful with a self-possessed air. Less traveled than other parts of the city, it is a district where you can take it at your own pace. Visitors can explore the many weaving and cloth houses, the free kimono shows, and the many shops selling traditional clothing and goods. Showcasing architecture with sloping roofs and wooden reliefs dating to decades past, the streets in the Nishijin District transport you back in time, making them a joy to wander.
