My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights in May. The hotel is well located to many attractions and eateries. Rooms are a little smaller than typical western hotels but they are still comfortable. The hotel is classy with very friendly staff. I particularly loved their green housekeeping concept where room credits are provided (for in house spending) if...

We stayed 5 nights in this hotel with 2 small children. The location is the best there is. Near Gion (with the Maiko’s and Geisha’s) 10 minutes walking or a few minutes by taxi. It is very close the Shin Kyogoku Shopping Arcade. Busstops and subway stations are also nearby. Breakfast was extensive. The room was small, we had to...

Hotel is in the shopping and food district. Just beside the hotel, you can find supermarket. It's very convenient. The hotel is about 10 mins to the Kyoto Station and cost about 1,000yen if you were to take a cab. Hotel room is acceptable considering that property space is consider luxury in Japan.

very convenient location right in the heart of things but amazingly quiet inside the room - room small but not very expensive - and we were happy as clams - it had everything we needed and we happily wandered around nishiki market even getting a reflexology treatment for the very first time.

Loved the location, everything was so convenient. Staff were extremely helpful. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom ok, just too tiny. Lifts can take some time, as there are only two of them. The entrance is a bit of a surprise. Have seen so many first timers just walk by.

The hotel is in an ideal location, close to tourist transportation, shopping areas and the Nishiki Market is a short walking distance away. The rooms (we had two twin rooms booked on different levels) were small, very small but the quality and cleanliness was to a high standard and had all the amenities you need. The staff were soo helpful,...

Wonderful hotel with a central location in Kyoto and excellent service. The staff is very friendly and the rooms, though a bit small in size, are very clean. Every day we got new house shoes and bath Robes. The bathroom was excellent.

This hotel is great for multiple reasons. First, it is perfectly located close to Kyoto`s greatest spots: River, Geika district, etc. Secondly, it is modern and stylish. Thirdly, and maybe most importantly, the concierge service is great. Make sure to stop by the concierge to get reservations for tea ceremonies, plays, etc

We travelled on Aug 2015 with a 80+ senior. No stairs in the lobby (good). They have a ladies' only floor which is quiet and comfortable. The mattress is soft and in great comfort. No other unpleasant sound can be heard in the room.

Arriving by cab, the familiarity of the Royal Park entrance was a welcome sight. The front desk immediately recongnized us as returning guests, and check in was a breeze. This time we had a larger room, with all first class amenities as would be expected. The pleasant surprise (which we actually we knew upon booking) was a much lower price...

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
