The overall stay in the hotel is very relaxing so that I will give it 5 over 5. However, you have a few things to know before you can fully enjoy the hotel, which I will write below.

First, this hotel is very similar to Ryokan, but without dinner. You need to take off your shoes and put them in the shoe box, where you can choose whatever you like. Amenities such as toothbrushes on located on the first floor of the hotel, close to the front desk. In other words, don't forget to choose the amenities you need since you cannot find them in your room.

The room itself is small, especially for the bathroom. However, the decoration is good. The overall room size might be a problem for people who like large rooms, but it is at least fine for me. Also, don't expect a good view from the hotel as it is close to the Kyoto Station. You can only see other buildings near the hotel. Keeping the window close will be a better choice.

For breakfast, you can have a lot of choices. If you want to try everything, you might be very full and can skip lunch LoL. Overall I believe the breakfast is high quality, and it is worthy choosing the plan with breakfast. The hotel also provides late-night snacks, noodles, which is ok. However, you can also find a convenience store close to the hotel, so choose the one you'd like to have for late night snack.

The Onsen itself is large and good. The temperature is in a reasonable range for me, so not like some onsen's temperature is so high. It might be the reason for the overall small bathroom in the room.

For the location, the hotel is close to the Kyoto Station. However, you might still need around 10 minutes walk. There are some hotels that are much closer to the Kyoto Station, but if you compare the price, you will find out this hotel is pretty balance between the location and overall service. I will highly recommend it if you are not so sensitive to the time to walk to hotel from the station.

Thank you for staying in our hotel. We really appreciate for your good review. We are not providing dinners, so we recommend to have dinners to the outside. There are some recommendations around hotel. Our hotel’s all of floors are TATAMI style, therefore we are kindly asking to take off your shoes at the entrance. From this spring, we preparing amenities such as toothbrushes at the wash basin’s drawer of your room. If you need extra, please feel free to ask at reception. If you need slippers, there are disposable one in near of the reception. Our hotel has some kinds of room. Therefore, if you like to stay more huge room, the triple room is good option for you. Please try it next time. There is buffet style breakfast, we offering Japanese style menu such as TEMPURA, SASHIMI, and TSUKEMONO and so on. Moreover, you may try complementary noodle service every night named YONAKISOBA. It is available from 9:30pm to 11:00pm. Our hotel is located the place where is convenient access from Kyoto Station and Shichijo Station. I’d like to use your comment as a reference. Please consider our hotel again if you got an opportunity to visit Kyoto. Onyadonono Kyoto Shichijo Receptionist Sato

Great location 8 mins walk fr Kyoto station .
Hotel has no shoes rules but you can put your shoes in locker n wear the slippers provided .

This is hotel with in-house onsen facilities for male and female patrons .
You can enjoy onsen after a long day’s walk.

Rooms are decked out in tatami , not very large so bring smaller luggage, found the bed and pillow to be quite hard but if you are tired you will fall
Asleep .

Every night at 9pm they start to serve half portion of ramen .

Breakfast is a sumptuous spread with local and western food . Best is the chirashi bowl where you can top up as much ikura and scallop as you like !

It is a very large and very busy hotel. It is very close to Kyoto station, hence very convenient to get anywhere. The rooms are small and the hotel does not service them during the stay, yet they take out rubbish if you leave them by your door and bring fresh towels everyday. You get a sense of crowd everywhere you go, especially at the breakfast room. Breakfast is a mix of asian food and the Japanese take on continental. Yet the hotel has an amazing secret gem by way of the free in-house onsen. It feels like a luxury spa. The zones are clearly separated men/women and no clothing whatsoever allowed inside the baths like any Japanese onsen. Loved the hot and cold baths. It was never busy.

The check in area is well organized, but the influx of people in and out make it seemed messy. They are overall quite attention to detail: cleaning wheels on your luggage, storing shoes, and the free coffee/juice area in the check in. Rooms are clean, but small - typical Japanese rooms. The ramen from 9-11pm were nice, together with ice cream, the kids love it! The public onsen and massage chairs are great! It's just too many people. I had to go at 5am to be less crowded. Breakfast and yogurt drinks are delicious as well! Well recommended.

I left my passport in the room after checking out and leaving Kyoto to Osaka. The staff known by 'Reception Li' followed up and mailed my documents to my hotel is Osaka. That took care of a big burden while playing with kids at USJ! I hope the hotel paid for it and not her as I didn't get charged.

I fell in love with this hotel, the service it’s excellent, the facilities are beautiful and they offer a lot of amenities for their guests. The use of the onsen it’s included in the price, also all day they offer Rea and coffe for the guest, during the day you can have ice lollipop. The breakfast it’s excellent, nice Japanese breakfast, at night you can enjoy noddles as a courtesy for their guest, also they provide socks and slippers as courtesy. The hotel it’s a mix between modern and traditional, for sure I will come back.

This hotel is right in the heart of town, a 10mins walk from Kyoto main Station. its hotel room is adequate and has a very unique bathroom/toilet because you can have a 'spa' right inside your own hotel room. Th onsen is huge and there's corner for everyone in the onsen bath. The hotel provides free hot ramen at night and there's also free Probiotics drink and ice-cream too. High recommended.

Also, the famous Kamo River and Sanjusangendo is within 10 minute walk. Our Family room and deluxe room has a bathtub inside. Our Guest-only spa has a variety of natural hot springs with a sauna to enjoy a "Japanese-style" hot-spring expirience. Very Japanese hotel / onsen. No shoes allowed in hotel and reception is not the friendliest. They give you a printed copy of hotel and onsen rules when you check in. The hotel is clean and has ryokan vibe. The rooms are very small and the onsen is extremely busy but i would recommend only if the rate is under $250?

Thank you for your review and for staying with us. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the cleanliness and ryokan ambiance of our hotel. However, it is unfortunate to hear that our reception did not meet your expectations, and we sincerely apologize for the lack of quality service. Regarding the room size, we do understand that it may feel compact. Fortunately, we do have other room options that are bigger, so if you believe that your room size did not suffice, our bigger room types may be more to your liking. Nonetheless, we will continuously strive to offer the best value for your stay, and will take your pricing feedback into consideration. Again, thank you for your review, and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Warm regards, Onyado Nono Kyoto Shichijou Kishishita

Interesting mix of modern and traditional, a slightly different experience from the typical "western" hotel, starting with the no-shoes rule... Lots of small but nice touches like free snacks at certain times. Our room was small but comfortable and quiet. The onsen had multiple hot (40+C) and a cold pool, as well as a sauna (90+C). The "congestion" monitor on the hotel's internal channel didn't appear to ever be updated, but the onsen were always almost empty in the late afternoon, and a bit crowded in the evening. Popular with Korean groups. Didn't try their dinner or breakfast, too many good food options nearby... The front desk was always well-staffed, and was able to arrange things like luggage forwarding for us.

We are glad to serve you at our hotel and thank you for you comment. As you mentioned, our concept is a "Japanese Ryokan-style" hotel by using tatami floor throughout the hotel which comes with certain Japanese cultural rules such as no shoes. We always provide free welcome sweets, ice creams, and sweet and sour probiotic drinks. Sorry for the "congestion" monitor problem. We will try to update it as much as possible to avoid any inconvinience. Also, we serve free soysause ramen at night for a late night snack and Japanese style buffe (the main is salmon egg donburi), and is worth giving a try! If you hav any change to visit Kyoto again we are welcome to serve you again. Thank You Onyado Nono Kyoto Shichjo Reception Yoshitaka

Yes but it’s very infrequent and takes way too many days it doesn’t make sense. Not sure if they made improvements since. You may want to check before you book to be safe. Thankfully we could use the luggage forwarding service by another hotel nearby where our friend stayed.
