Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful hotel in prime location in Kyoto. The rooms are nice and the staff are super helpful and polite. The buffet breakfast was incredible!!! We really enjoyed our staying here while in Kyoto. This hotel is also super quiet which was a bonus:)

Room complete with everything, compared to Japanese standards the double room is also large and the bed is also a double size.
We really liked the "green" project: they spend every day changing your towels and emptying the bins without cleaning the room and the bed and as a gift every day if you join the project they give you bottles of water. Every 3 days (if you stay more than 4 nights) if you join the program they still clean the room.
At check out they gave us some biscuits and even let us choose which one we wanted!
Very central location, super convenient both on the metro and on foot!!

The hotel is near a subway station, 4 stations from Kyoto Central Station. It is a small hotel, with small rooms (although larger than its brother in Tokyo) they leave you toothbrushes, toothpaste, pajamas, vanity kit, rake and they lend you pajamas. What I didn't like is that there is no place to store clothes or suitcases, the latter I had to leave on a little armchair there. And in the 2 days that we were there, they did not clean the room (they only took out garbage)

We stayed at this Inn for 6 nights in July 2024. It was our second stay in Kyoto. Family of 6 adults, including 4 young people aged 19 to 24. The "Monday Karasuma Nijo" Inn is conveniently located to visit Kyoto and enjoy the "Matsuri" float parades. Close to buses and metro. It is a very quiet, comfortable and very clean place. The very welcoming and dedicated staff took care of transferring our luggage at the end of our stay to a place near Kix airport. The Japanese breakfast (various and hearty buffet) is probably the best we had during our 3-week trip to Kansai and western Honshu. There are several restaurants nearby. Wifi works.

The location of the hotel was perfect—close to major attractions but tucked away enough to be peaceful. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a wide variety of delicious options to suit every taste.
I highly recommend to anyone visiting the area and will definitely be staying here again on my next trip.

We chose this hotel for a three-day, two-night trip as it was well-located and suited our sightseeing route.
When we arrived, there were many foreign tourists, but the front desk staff were polite and experienced, allowing us to check in smoothly.
There were also convenience stores and supermarkets nearby, so we were able to spend our time at the hotel after dinner without any inconvenience.
Breakfast was buffet style, but there was a wide selection of dishes that would please not only Japanese people but also foreigners, and there was also a local menu item exclusive to the hotel, the Kinugasa rice bowl and namafu, so it seemed like they put a lot of effort into their breakfast!
I actually tried the Kinugasa rice bowl, and it was the most delicious item on the menu, so I would definitely recommend it if you stay here.
We had a comfortable stay, including the facilities, service, and food. If we have the opportunity, we will stay again!

Great service from hotel staff and the rooms were lovely, good size and very clean. Beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was bigger than other hotels we’ve stayed at. Very easy to get to from Kyoto station.

Great breakfast, kind and friendly staff, big rooms, good soundproofing. The location is fairly central and it is easy to get to many different tourist attractions. The free sake tasting and hotel shuttle bus were good bonuses. Nice design and lovely toiletries. Thanks for a great trip! :)

Breakfast was a buffet and easy to eat. The curry at the buffet was vegan, so many people could eat it, and there were ingredients such as sausages nearby, so people could season it to suit their own circumstances and preferences. This is part of the universal design.
The refrigerator was small, so it was not possible to keep convenience store bento boxes cold.
The hotel had good security, using cards.
The reception staff were very helpful.

Clean and friendly customer service throughout. Towels changeover everyday without us notifying the hotel enhances our holiday experience. The room is tight for 3 people and luggages though but sleep is not an issue. Good experience overall.
