This is a truly lovely hotel. Located in the small alley next to the main 4th street, the location is quite convenient if you are planning to visit Gion, the palace and nearby attractions. It’s two subway station away from Kyoto Station.

The staff were amazing. I made a mistake on my reservation and they were so kind and understanding.

Everyday they have snacks, smoothies, cocktails and coffee at the lounge at various times of the day for the guest to enjoy. Their buffet breakfast have hot foods like scrambled eggs, sausages, and various traditional Japanese breakfast items.

Double and Twin rooms are standard sized, lots of lighting options and the AC/Heater is customizable. They also provide an air-filter with humidifier. Their communal baths are open most of the day and night.

The walls are very insulated so you barely hear other guests.

One night with breakfast costs about $200-300usd.

One of the best hotels in the area. Highly recommend!!

Overall, it's a good hotel. The room is large enough, not like those in Tokyo. Plenty of choices for delicious breakfast. For me, the choices for Japanese style might be a little fewer than I expected but it's fine for me. It is about 30 minutes walk to Yasaka Jinja, which is a little far but consider you are is a quiet area near the subway stations, I believe it is acceptable. It is well-balanced between the distance between Yasaka Jinja and subway stations.

There is one thing I don't quite like is the washing machine. There are only two washing machines and they are all located near the public bath. However, the public bath will be cloth for certain times so it means that you cannot wash your cloth at any time you want and you might need to wait as there are only two washing machines. However, it is not a big disadvantage in my view so I will not take off points for my rating.

PS. The entrance is very interesting.

My family and I booked connecting rooms which had 2 single beds and a toilet and bath in each one. Rooms were well appointed and clean and beds were comfortable. It was nice for my family to be able to spread out and have sufficient space. The only downside was the windows are frosted over so you can’t see outside, however not a deal breaker as we only ever stayed in the room to sleep. The hotel also had a public onsen bath on the ground level which we used often after a hard day of exploring kyoto. The hotel also offered lounge services with offerings changing throughout the day. Check timings on their website (coffee, smoothies, drinks and nibblies (free for all guests). At night they offer a complimentary buffet of rice with different toppings and soups. Pay extra for breakfast, it is a typical Japanese breakfast with a lot of veggies and offerings of rice, curry and variety of hot and cold dishes. Not your typical western buffet and was a refreshing change.

Hotel is a short walk to Nishiki markets and is still a walkable distance to Shijo station and Kawaramachi strip. Reception staff was helpful and spoke english. We are very happy with our stay at hotel intergate. She may be small and compact but She has a lot to offer. We will be back :)

Stayed at Hotel Intergate in Kyoto. Its a conveniently located property. Room size is adequate. They have english and Chinese speaking staff at the reception. Amenities in the room are of good quality. There's a communal bath(separate for ladies and gents). Highlight of the hotel is the lounge where they serve for free, jucies/ smoothie in morning, afternoon tea with cake, wine in the evening and late night snacks.
Planning to stay here again😄😄

Booking this hotel was one of the best decisions we made on our trip to Japan. Check-in was easy, and the staff was helpful. The hotel is beautiful. The vending machines are convenient. I didn't use them, but my friends loved the in-house onsen.

The rooms were really lovely, tight but comfortable, and perfect for my partner and I. We had no complaints. The location was superb, walkable to Nishiki Market and close to any buses or trains we needed the entire trip. It was the perfect place to lay our heads after a long day of exploring Kyoto.

This is a fairly new boutique hotel. Rooms are very clean, but of a standard size. What makes the hotel special is the services and amenities that it offers. The breakfast buffet offers a wide selection of western and Japanese food. The food is freshly prepared and quickly replenished. Coffee is available almost all day, and in the afternoon, coffee, tea, soft drinks and cookies are provided. There is a Happy Hour with good white and red wines, and rice soup is offered as a nighttime snack. The front desk staff courteous and efficient and can recommend nearby restaurants for dinner.

LOVELY stay! The hotel atmosphere showcases a blend of traditonal and contemporary Kyoto. We loved the daylong refreshments and Happy Hour, we made sure we went back to the hotel daily. Clean cosy rooms and our highlight? The onsen, a must after a long day of walking and exploring.

Slight downside, the several staff we interacted with spoke limited English. We relied on our own research for further concierge questions we had.

Excellent hotel. Small smoothies in the early a.m. coffee 24/7, light snacks in the afternoon, rice/soup in the evening. Clean comfortable rooms. Nice onsen. Onsite washer driver, though very busy. A 5 minute walk to the subway. Relatively short walk to Nijo Castle and Nishiki Market. Inexpensive, short cab ride to Kyoto station. Lots of places to eat nearby.

Competent and professional staff. Not a fancy hotel, but certainly worth the price and would definitely stay again.

This hotel surprised us. It has the perfect fusion of classic and modern. The room we had was small but extremely functional. We opted to include breakfast, which was a feast. The “communal baths” are pristine, and very well organised (gender separated). It was amazing to take a hot bath after a day out in the sticky June weather. The staff are exquisitely polite and helpful. Just round the corner are small restaurants packed with locals.
