This Ryokan, run by two old but fit Japanese sisters, is for you if you want to experience a traditional Ryokan. It's a very old building made out of mostly wood, everything squeaks and you hear every voice and footstep in the building.
This ryokan is really old fashion. The owners are even older. The rooms are ok and the location is fine. Make sure you rent a bike in Kyoto.

Overall I was a little disappointed with this ryokan. It's fairly conveniently located near the Imperial Palace and walking distance to the subway although there's no english sign so it's a little hard to find in the back streets of Kyoto late in the evening....More
