It was a nice experience. Friendly staff, clean onsen. The futon was a little thin and could feel the hard floor underneath. Wasn't a very nice sleep. Wifi was only available in the lobby. The food was nice. Crab hot pot was the highlight. A lot of pickled vegetables which personally I'm not a huge fan of.

The ryokan is located pretty near to Kyoto station - probably a 5 mins walk. And just round the corner, there's a JTB outlet. Hence, if you need to make any last min purchase or booking, its rather convenient. The staff are really nice and friendly. However, they can't really speak any English; hence, be prepared to do hand-signal. The...

Accommodation was comfortable in large clean rooms with ensuites (biggest rooms I had stayed in whilst in Japan!). The retro furniture from around the 70s was very kitsch but adequate. For Japanese coutumes the rooms are quit big, the comfort is OK with TV set, table and 2 sleeping places. Bathroom and toilet are separated but small, all in all interesting experience but for sure don't expect luxurious living, it is a traditional Ryokan and that is per definition spartiate! The common bath is in the basement floor and quit...
