Very clean, compact room and bathroom. Fine for one person. Has a budget feel with a modest breakfast. I found the location extremely convenient. A couple of mins from Kyoto station yet not on the main street. Great access to transport hub including JR lines and buses.

This hotel was much more comfortable that I expected for a station hotel. Interior simply decorated and well maintained. Staff friendly, not much English (though not a problem). Room good size for Japan, bed comfortable. Breakfast simple but good; selection of breads (changed each day), juice, soup (did not partake - too weird for breakfast for me!), coffee and boiled...

The staff was very polite and helpful. The location is about a 5min walk to Kyoto station and it was great to have a couple pachinko buildings right next to it. The room was small, but, neat and simple.

Stayed here for 1 night. We did not like the hotel. The good: The service was ok. We received good care during our check-in and check-out. The bad: The room is very small. Smaller than what we had in Richmond. The cleanliness is average. There were some dusts. The food did not taste very good for breakfast. But it's expected...

This hotel located at only 3 minutes from Kyoto Station. It's convenient for business and sight seeing of Kyoto. The facilities are nice atomospher, for example bath, air conditioner, TV set and bed, it's located closely from bed. Morning buffet is nice and comfortable. If there's one thing is the room is so narrow.

I've stayed here on a business trip, very reasonable for a hotel which is located near Kyoto station. Room was clean and the bed was rather wide for a single room, which is very nice. Too bad the bathroom is a bit tight, but is not bad I think.

Typical Japanese business hotel, tiny room but spotlessly clean. Just no space for luggage in the room. Breakfast is sufficient and staff friendly. All in all I would recommend this hotel to any single traveller who badically needs a place to sleep.

This hotel provides great value for money and is very centrally located just about 800 m from Kyoto station East exit. It can be seen from the station when getting off on the Shinkansen line. Very basic facilities are provided and one needs to pick up the geisha (gown) from the lobby. The tooth brush and shaving kit is provided...

Stayed here for a week on business. The central Tokyo location and proximity to Kyoto Station make it an ideal location. The hotel was spotless and tidy. Breakfast is included, it's a continental breakfast but sufficient unless you're looking for a big american-style meal. They serve hard boiled duck eggs that are quite delicious, a couple of soups, breads, and...

This is a mid size business hotel located just opposite of Kyoto train station and near the bus terminal. Obviously you would think that it will be expensive, but no. It was, in fact, much cheaper than the other hotels on the other side of Kyoto station. We booked early, 6 months before the trip and I got a room...

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighbourhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
