First and foremost, the hotel itself looks like a cruise ship docked at the harbor side. That alone is amusing and worth many photos. Kobe's harbor is incredibly scenic. This makes a great location for a hotel. Not to mention, it's close to downtown. It's not too far from th

Good size hotel room for Japan, comfortable and with balcony overlooking the port. A great and interesting view. It's a bit of a hike into town but there is a free shuttle bus. The lunch time buffet was amazing and not overly priced There is a great roof top bar with a great bari

How would you recommend we get to this hotel form the Osaka-Kansai (KIX) international airport? Our flight arrives at 6:15 pm on May 10, 2017.
We am booked into your hotel on 12 May, 2017. We are photographers. Room type is "Double Balcony Room". Does this room have a high level view of ferris wheel? Geoff Hore
That depends which side of the hotel your room is on you could always ask for a specific side the eating is good value at the shopping mall near the ferris wheel

my wife and i are staying with you on 11th and 12th March arriving via osaka kinsia airpirt. my wife is in a wheelchair. can we get a shuttle bus or taxi to the hotel and how much in australian dollars please
I think that your best bet is to take a taxi straight from the airport to The Meriken Park Hotel but I have no idea of the cost. The hotel is a well known land mark on Naka Pier in the Harborland area. Everyone knows it. In my opinion, travelling to Sannomiya Station, then finding the free shuttle bus (in the bus station at the side of the station) would be difficult with a wheelchair. We had to change levels at the station (there is a lift/elevator) then we walked quite a way before we found the bus. However, once you do get to the hotel, the free shuttle bus is great. It will take you to the next hotel if you would like to have a drink there for a change. Then It drops you off in Sannomiya (a busy, bustling shopping area). However, it does not stop anywhere else. The hop-on-hop off bus at the right hand side of the red Port Tower might be very useful (you cannot miss the tower. It is straight in front of the hotel). That way you can see the whole of Kobe without a lot of walking. The Meriken Park /Harborland area is pretty flat as much of it is man-made, as good as you can get for a wheelchair. Have a wonderful holiday.

How close is the hotel to the cruise port ?
The hotel is on the Naka Pier Cruise Terminal. The dinner cruise boat ties up at the side of the hotel each evening and leaves from there. The small cruise boats, for day excursions, line up along the harbor front (about 10 minutes walk). The Concerto Cruise ship is a bit further round the (artificial)l bay in the direction of Harborland. Most of the huge cruise ships berth at the Kobe Cruise Terminal at Shinko Pier a few miles away (nearer to the airport and the Portliner monorail). There were no large cruise ships at Naka Pier while I was staying at the hotel, however, I have seen photos of a large cruise ship docking there. I hope that this answers your question.
