We are located in Hatchobori, the downtown area of Hiroshima. Our location makes us ideal as both a business hub in and around the fast-developing city of Hiroshima and as a tourist base for two World Heritage Sites: the A-Bomb Dome and Miyajima Itsukushima Shrine.

It’s my fault, I should have checked more clearly the size and layout of room, we booked a double, would have to be the smallest double bed in the world, with one side pressed against the wall, trapping you in. There are no wardrobes, no complimentary water, or humidifier which we had found in other Japanese hotels. Very claustrophobic, a bit like being in a tent. The bathroom they have turned into a mini onsen, which means the shower goes all over the floor, not great unless you want to have a bath. Hotel well located, easy walk to Peace Memorial, lots of shops and restaurants It’s located in entertainment district, so noisy at nights if you open window. Good breakfast, including fresh egg station. Easy to get to, catch tram 1,2 or 6 from station, get off at sixth stop and it’s a short walk.

A while back I meet a fellow traveller who recommended this hotel. Thanks! What a nice place, the room was large, by Japanese standards, and comfortable. Fully equipped with fridge, hotpot, humidifier and safe. Great location too. Close to food, entertainment, transportation. If you arrive at Hiroshima Station, take the Hiroshima Meipuru-pu bus (the red bus), the green line drops you almost in front of the hotel, stop #15 Shintenchi. Take a right off the bus about 50-75 feet and your there. I'm already planning to stay here again.

Stayed 5 nights at Hiroshima Washington hotel. We took bus from the airport to Hiroshima bus station that located in Sogo. It took 10-15mins walk to the hotel. I booked Run of House type and luckily got a twin room! The room was clean and bathroom was bigger than expected. You can reach shopping malls, sight seeing places all in walking distance. There was a Don Quijote that opened till midnight just nearby the hotel. It was the most convenient hotel there! Highly recommended!

1. Location: Along the main shopping stretch of Hiroshima, with many food options and shops around the area. Conveniently linked to either the bus terminal (~15 minutes' walk) or to train station (~15 minutes by bus or streetcar).

2. Staff: Very courteous and welcoming. Efficient check-in and -out. Speaks good English.

3. Room: The best I have had in this trip, having stayed in 5 other hotels. Traveling alone, I always picked the cheapest and smallest room in all the hotels; the one here is the largest in comparison, with a full length bathtub. Wifi is great too! The room window overseas a pedestrianized walkway, giving quite a nice view of what goes on on the streets; yet, when closed, there is no noise at all.

This is a clean, comfortable, modern hotel that's perfect for sightseeing and shopping. Just walk down nearby Hondori Street (filled with shops and restaurants) and you eventually wind up at Peace Memorial Park. If you're arriving at the JR Station in Hiroshima, simply take streetcars 1, 2 or 6 and get off at Hatchobori (the sixth stop). Cross the street towards the Fukuya department store, then turn left and walk a couple of blocks to the hotel. The streetcar fare is 180 JPY. Previous reviews by SCSLondon (May 9, 2017) and Kilmore_12 (April 29, 2017) are right on the mark. The modern bathroom is impressive, especially the spacious wet room. I enjoyed the breakfast, too. There are two washers and dryers in the 4th floor reception area. It costs 200 JPY to wash; and 100 JPY to dry; both 30 minutes. My 11th floor room, overlooking the street, was quiet and had a nice view. But be sure to close the drapes when you leave for the day, as the sun can heat up the room quickly. I enjoyed my three-night stay; and wouldn't hesitate to return.

If you don't have too much time and you want a centrally located hotel this is a very good option. Efficient, organized, clean, quite big bathroom for Japanese standards. The double bed is small and not super comfortable but it is OK and not a disaster. If you are working or touring and out most of the day the hotel is a very good option.

We spent 2 nights at the Hiroshima Washington Hotel while we toured the Hiroshima Peace Park and Miyajima Island. We booked 3 rooms with double beds through Agoda for about $1,000.00 total. When you reach the Hiroshima Train station exit the North Exit and take Trolley #2. The trolley will stop near an intersection that is about one block from the Hotel. You will not be able to see the hotel sign unless you are standing almost directly in front of the hotel. Check-in is on the 4th floor. The hotel staff is typical for Japan. They want to provide excellent and efficient service. The staff will store your bags for you if you arrive before check-in, or after check-out and you want to continue touring the city.
This hotel has many high-tech features. To get to your room you have to swipe the pad in the elevator with your key card. The reader will automatically take you to your floor. To activate the power in your room you have to use your key card and place it in a card reader. If you remove your card than all power will be turned off. The master switch is bedside. You can control all lights from this control center. Of the three hotels we stayed at in Japan, this was the only one which had the AC accessible to the room occupants. The climate control for the Comfort Hotel in Himeji, and the Kobe Sannomiya Tokyu REI hotel are centrally controlled by the hotel. Since it was winter no AC were available for both hotels (but that’s another story).
Typical of Japanese hotels the rooms are small by US standards. There is no closet or dresser cabinet space. There are hanger racks for you to hang your clothes. But primarily you will have to live out of your suitcase. We booked rooms with double size beds. A double size bed in Japan is almost an American Queen size so there was lots of room to stretch out. What makes this room stand out is the huge bathroom. The bath tub area is Japanese o-furo style. You shower first than soak in the nice hot tub. We didn’t have to go to an onsen.
Since the hotel is in the middle of a shopping district your view will be primarily street scenes. On the right side of the hotel is a covered pedestrian street mall that is blocked from traffic. Follow the mall and it will lead you directly to the Hiroshima Peace Park. On the left side of the hotel is the Don Quixote Department store. If you buy $50.00 of similar products (i.e. food only or electronics only) you will get 8% tax free if you show your passport.
The breakfast buffet provides a mix of Japanese and Western fare. We never left hungry. We were very pleased with our stay and would stay here again. Had this place had a gym I would have given it a 5-star rating.
