There is a four-lane road right in front of the hotel, but you can hardly hear the traffic from inside your room, so you can sleep well.
The all-you-can-eat popsicles in front of the large public bath are available from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., which is a great advantage.
The parking lot is a mechanical tower parking lot on a first-come, first-served basis, so during busy periods you may be directed to another affiliated parking lot.
For breakfast, you can enjoy a hearty meal with all-you-can-eat salmon, scallops, and salmon.

Stayed 4 nights in a standard double room. The room is well-designed: a small sliding door separates the hallway and bathroom from the main sleeping area, which also blocks out any outside noise (noise was not an issue, thankfully). Bed is comfortable, though you may need more pillows. There is a fridge, kettle and bottled water supplied.
My favourite part is the onsen. I don't think the water has any special properties, as there was no sign indicating what benefits it has, unlike at other Dormy Inns I've stayed at. Luckily I had it to myself a few times and when it was shared, it was with people who were quiet and respectful. Most of the clientele were Japanese. Unfortunately for women, the men's bath is bigger and has an outside tub- wish they'd alternate them so both genders could experience it.
Breakfast was included and it was delicious. I went for the Japanese options, which as you'd expect, were fantastic. Some Hokkaido specialties and the usual Japanese fare. Never was too crowded, even on a Sunday, seemingly their busiest day.
Didn't have their free night time noodles because, although the service is a nice idea, Sapporo has too many ramen shops to experience.
There is a free taxi service to Sapporo station when you check out, but the sign is only in Japanese. You need to book the previous day. It's a handy service if you have heavy luggage.
All in all, I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.
How to get there:
If you were to arrive at New Chitose airport, you need to take the train to Sapporo Station about 40 min(NOT Shin-Sapporo). Now you have 3 Choices, we came around 17 March, so the weather is not that bad. Its about 3 - 5 Celsius (32-40F). You can take the Taxi (about 1500 Yen), or take subway to Odori or Susukino (the hotel is actually located in between both station, but odori comes first). Or do what we did and just walk to hotel which takes about 20 - 25 min. You can walk using the underground passageway or brave the cold and walk above ground.
Hotel
- The hotel is designed to look like a ski lodge with wooden accents.
- Receptionist barely speaks any English. It was like night and day compare to their Shibuya branch where every one can speak good English. Asking simple things like "what to do you recommend while staying in sapporo" ended up to be very frustrating.
- Room is small, not like american hotel but we know when we are going in. So its not a problem.
Amenities
- Free wifi
- Ofuro so you can soak after long day of walking. The men side is huge. Theres an outdoor and indoor ofuro. My wife complain about the women side being very small.
- Laundry (i think wash is free, 100 Yen for 30 min for Dryer)
- Good size business lounge. 2 computers with copy machine printer. each print cost 50 Yen for color or black & White
- Free late nite snack (Ramen) which is very delicious
- The Breakfast selection is huge. You can get fresh tuna, salmon roe, prawns, crab miso soup and lots more.
The hotel is located in an outdoor shopping arcade with lots of restaurants and retail stores. So if you arrive in the evening, this is definitely a good place to start.
Pro
- Free wifi
- Free Late night snack
- Ofuro
- Outdoor shopping arcade just outside the hotel with lots of restaurant and retail shops
- Excellent Breakfast choice
cons
- Staff speaks very little English
- Women Ofuro small compare to Men
We love:
- Awesome breakfast with wide spread of food including salmon roe, salmon, scallop soup, etc.
- complementary taxi to sapporo station (only 1 way)
- awesome onsen (small but very adequate for a city hotel. It has both indoor and outdoor onsen. Good toiletries too)
- free espresso/ blended coffee from coffee machine at lobby
- ramen supper until 11pm (really handy when my kids complaint that they were hungry at 10.30pm...yup, up late, but it's a holiday!)
- you can also use the onsen in the dormy inn opposite
The hotel is located within a covered mall (easy access to some shopping) it is about 5 min walk from pole town exit (pivot mall), and about 20 mins walk from Sapporo JR station. Can be quite a pain to walk back after a long day out. But one can always take a train or taxi. It is really closer to susukino than sapporo station.
Free ramen for supper, complimentary taxi ride to train station, onsen, inside covered shopping alley in susukino, near susukino station and Pole Town & Aurora underpass, Don Q, matsumoto kiyoshi, kokumin!!! Nuff said!
Again, the breakfast is almost a must that a traveller should consider. The availability of choice, esepcially some native food such as salmon caviar, squid, shrimp sushi, even white corn (occasional)...would make you feel worth to stay there.
Overall environment and facilities is expected to be a 3-star hotel, but with the spa and breakfast, many caculative travellers would think it worthy of a stay. At least I am.

The rooms are new and clean and larger than the Annex but that was about the only difference.
Also has an onsen but I found the onsen at the Annex better.
I would stay here again but more than likely I would stay at the cheaper Annex again as it's almost identical.
First off, the rooms are tiny and compact, well equipped with the normal amenities and toiletries. I enjoyed using the shower. The one scenery photo / poster that they stick to one of the walls is redundant and makes the room look a bit tacky. The windows do not open and you have no views to look out to, so the room has a very boxed - in feel which the air con and air filter does not alleviate. If you use one of the large suitcases that has to be laid flat on the floor when it is opened, the space in the room is hardly adequate. If you are sharing the room with someone and both of you have such suitcases, all I can say is "good luck", you probably have to take turns opening your suitcases.
We enjoyed using the lounge on the 2nd floor (equipped with comfortable sofas, lounge chairs, Japanese Manga / magazines / books, TV, some games like Othello and Sapporo beer dispenser). This hotel also has coin operated laundry facilities and onsen and massage parlour on the same level. So while waiting for your laundry to be washed, you can enjoy the onsen and relax in the lounge, which we did.
We enjoyed the breakfast although you may have to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated during peak hours. The variety and quality of the food were adequate and quite delicious.
The biggest let - down was the front desk service staff. When we arrived, we were a bit lost as the GPS directed us to a location near the hotel but not exactly to the front entrance. My husband approached the hotel staff for help, but none of them made much effort to assist him. After much cajoling (meanwhile I was in the car with my mother in law, sister in law and 2 kids - waiting for what seemed an interminably long time), one of the front desk staff reluctantly followed him to our car (which was stopped 5 minutes away) to direct us to the hotel carpark. No warm smiles, no effort to go out of their way to offer assistance. Aside from the language barrier, my husband felt very exasperated by the unfriendly encounter, and unfortunately, this first impression lasted for the entire duration of our stay at the hotel.
