I booked for a single room, it was a bit small but it's ok. Onsen was nice, many shops around the area. A bit far from city, but it is ok.
Staff were good, the room was a decent size although the bathrooms are slightly odd. They had a buffet breakfast on offer which was about £10 and had everything from cereal and toast to spaghetti cabanas or fried chicken! Most importantly it was cheap, making it good value for money!
Also near bus stop for lines 7 & 8 to Sapporo City, and 96 to Makomanai station;
Approximately 15 mins away from the other APA Hotel in Hosui Susukino area. From Saporo by bus is about 45 mins.
Near a grocery for fresh fruits and sushi trays (really cheap), Daiso store, Yamada store (tax free available);
Onsen is a plus;
Provided Shiseido bath products, complete toiletry accessories and bath robes;
Staff very friendly and speak good English;
Also near a beef grill, ramen house, sushi place and Mos Burger (right side when you get out of the hotel
When queuing for bus, make sure to hold your spot. Some cut the line (shame). Wish they issue number cards so you're sure you have a seat. Bus can only accommodate 28 passengers in one go.
Very convenient airport limousine bus waits every 30 mins or so. Cheaper to take this bus than taking the train or taxi; takes 80 mins to Chitose.
Will stay again.

Upon our late arrival at almost midnight, there was nothing opened around the area except for two convenience stores nearby. You can buy the food there and bring back to the hotel as there are also microwave ovens provided at the side of the lobby. The staff, though do not speak good English, but can still vaguely comprehend and answer your English questions.
The room was considered big by Japanese standard I believe. It has 2 single beds and still quite a bit of room for walking about, has 2 sofa seats a small coffee table, and still enough space for our big luggage. The toilet, though small, was cosy. It has a separate bath room, Japanese style. I loved it!
The public onsen/ hot bath on the ground floor is for use of hotel guests. It is quite big and has an indoor hot bath and an outdoor bath area. The whole place is kept very clean. Very worth the experience. Exactly like what we saw in Japan Hour, a show featuring various places in Japan. I had a wonderful experience the other day when I went out to the outdoor hot bath when it was snowing. No need to travel to jozankei nearby.
There are restaurants, shopping facility at AEON and supermarkets nearby. There are buses to the nearest Makomanai subway station. The best was the availability of public buses to Sapporo station. Not extremely expensive and was quite fast and efficient way of getting to the Main shopping and eating area in under an hour. You get to see the makomanai area too!
You know what is best? The availability of free shuttle to another APA Hotel in town. So if you plan your day properly, you actually get to travel to town and back to this hotel for free! It feels like you are staying right smack in town.
I loved this hotel. It would have been selfish if I had not shared this wonderful resort with readers. Oh, but do be warned it can get a bit noisy in the lobby if there are too many tourists. We were lucky to go off when a bus load of tourists came.
Overall, it was an excellent stay for us. No need to travel to the mountains for Onsen!
Room and toilet was clean and comfortable. However, TV only has Japanese language channels. Onsen facilities were fantastic, I really enjoyed it for the first time. Receptionist with fair English and could communicate well.
Supermarkets located to the left and right of Hotel, easy to shop for daily necessities.
To join the local tours, get to Sapporo Station and buy ticket at CHUO Regular Sightseeing Tours counter, plenty of choices.... so enjoy.

Breakfast buffet is quite Ok with basic eggs, bread station, fruits etc. It will be suitable for both Eastern and Western palate.
The best part is the massive supermarket just 100 - 200 on the right of the hotel. Great place to shop for Japanese products of all sorts. The same super market has a few restaurant options like Mos burger, a Japanese Ramen shop (AWESOME) and a beef grill restaurant.
One drawback is that this hotel does not have a gym or a pool, thought there is a gym outside the hotel about 300 m on the left. I did not go there so I am not sure if you need membership for access.
The highlight of the hotel is the Onsen spa on level one. Each night you can enjoy a hot water dip in the freezing weather outdoors.
Hotel also has a coin laundry on level 1.
The hotel is a bit far from the main city of Sapporo. You need to take a taxi (5-10 mins ride) to the nearest subway station and then ride on the train into the main city which takes another 20 odd mins.
The first thing we noticed was the bathroom had a strong urine smell. I think this was partly due to poor cleaning but the odour seemed to come from the bath area which was separated by a door...if you know Japanese bathrooms.
The rooms seemed quite outdated which may reflect why the price is relatively low by Japanese standards. One thing we found surprising was the lack of air conditioning in the room. I would not recommend staying here in the summer. They had some heat buttons to control the central heating but only a small wall fan to bring it a little fresh cool air. We found the room a little too warm during our stay. Rooms had TV, fridge, hot water thermos, tea, yukata, slippers, free toiletries and .... a collection of neo-conservative writings promoted by Motoya Toshio, head of the hotel chain (http://www.japanfocus.org/-Herbert_P_-Bix/2945). Since this is a hotel review I won't go into the content of the magazine but Caucasians might not feel comfortable after reading some of the stuff they have there. I'm surprised that Korean and Chinese tourists stay here. I suspect they're on tours and don't read the stuff in the rooms (Japanese and English). They might not agree with Motoya's interpretation of history...but I'm getting off track ...
PRO's
The price was reasonable about 6000 yen per person per night included a good buffet breakfast.
Staff were friendly and provided good service. Hotel had a nice onsen so you don't have to use the room's bath :-(

Upon finishing the match I used the Tohu line to reach Hosuisusukino station after 2 stops. There are lots of exits at this station and luckily the exit I went out is next to the another APP hotel Sapporo Suisukino Ekimae. My gut feeling is that I should be able to find out with more information, as trip advisor told me a free shuttle bus from this station. Very lucky. Staff at this hotel just pointed me where to get on this free shuttle within a second. The bus stop is just at this hotel entrance at the back. The free shuttle bus runs for every 30 mins. Without an hour I could reach the resort easily with any hassle. Great hotel. Great service. Nice running park as well.
"Request for a room nearer to the lift, as I was given a room end of the row. Thus everyday I need to walk long distance back to my room."Read full review
