On the advice of a Shanghai-based friend, I recently spent one night at the Tea Boutique Hotel. The room was very spacious and quiet, with a nice Zen-inspired decoration scheme. The restaurant was very good. And the location offered a perfect starting point for several excursions: to the Buddhist temple complex in Lingyin (skip the taxi, a city bus leaves... More

the tea boutique was a welcome change from the heavy lacquered furniture, red gold and stained carpets of may chinese hotels. it is tasteful, modern international feel while still having its own character. rooms were spacious and comfortable and front desk staff were the most pleasant and helpful we found in a month in china- and were invaluable in planning... Stayed for one night only in a king bed room and it was truly a positive surprise even after reading the good reviews. Spa was good as well and we loved the Mint Lounge. For dinner, try La Pedrera, only 7 mins walk from the hotel.

One of the impressive things about this hotel was the amount of open space. Our room was large and well-laid out with a sitting area, desk, closet and built-in drawers in addition to two beds and a large bathroom that included a tub big enough for soaking. We were provided with three kinds of tea and fresh mangoes and apples... More

We travelled to Hangzhou to meet with friends who had selected Tea Boutique Hotel after reading about it in an inflight magazine, and were impressed with their choice. We stayed for three nights. I think what I liked most was the helpful attitude of the front desk staff. Cheryl assisted us via email in the week before our stay by... More

I was looking for a place that was comfortable but with a unique atmosphere. I had a reasonable budget, but did not want the 5-star international chain experience. The Tea Boutique was perfect! The rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully designed, with all the modern conveniences, and a few nice extras, like free espresso in the business centre. But my favourite... More

I am a Hangzhou resident and visited the Tea Boutique Hotel & Spa last week. A friend's parents are coming to China from the US and I wanted to see the place for myself before recommending the hotel. The staff speaks amazing English, gave excellent service to my requests of seeing the rooms and I even ended up getting a... More

We stayed at the Tea Boutique for three nights. I would highly recommend it. While it's location is not right on West Lake, it is across the street from the park and only a short walk from the lake. The hotel is beautifully designed and comfortable, very clean and well maintained. It is a small hotel and very quiet. The... More

I found the Tea Boutique hotel on Agoda. Having tried the shangri la and the Hyatt we went out on a limb and tried this hotel before doing any research. What a find. Extremely cool design, abundant with natural wood and muted colours. Clean and evidently well maintained the hotel rooms are spacious and very comfortable. All the little touches... More

Chose the Tea Boutique after reading all the reviews. The location is wonderful, OK not near West Lake, but very walkable. The best time we had in China in a park, was the park opposite the hotel, what a gem. We went for a high hill climb to Sunset Terrace and met some wonderful Chinese people. Obviously this is not...
