When we arrived to check in, the lobby and surrounding areas were dirty, the two public toilets to use were blocked, and nearly all of the fire alarms were low in battery so an almost consistent bleeping was present. Not a good introduction. Only speaking English we do slightly rely on staff being able to talk a small about of...

Okay and cheap place. When you see that they are selling towels, shampoo, shower gel, and soap at the check in counter, you may initially think that you have to pay for what toiletries you need. However, thankfully they do provide those things for you in the rooms. The room conditions are not great, but awful - you will be...

The staff is friendly, even if they speak a little English. They can provide you only few additoonal information regarding how to rent bicycles, going to local traditional restaurants, activities and so on only because of their poor English. If you can speak/understand a little Chinese they can give you good advice. Anyway, on a wall in the hostel, someone...

Location is near Xihu Lake and there are many bike rentals near this hostel. Closest mini market is around 300m to the right. It...

Normally, I'm a very forgiving guy, but the bads at this hotel outweigh the good. Good: clean sheets and towels, quiet, nice patio, non-smoking room, decent bathroom. Bad: peeling wall paper with stains all over the walls, nasty carpet, a/c was sporadic, and charged me 50 rmb for a dirty towel. The towel incident really pissed me off. They don't...

We stayed at this hotel at the recommendation of my father who found out about this good value hotel from his Chinese colleagues. We were very skeptical when we arrived as we had a hard time finding the hotel in the night. The hotel does not front Nanshan Lu and it shares the driveway with the adjacent residential block. We...
