Stayed 2 nights and found the hotel to be very clean and comfortable with a luxurious foyer and welcoming Gordon's bar (charming bar staff 22 and 23 December). Our room (12th floor) was spacious and well appointed with comfy seating and a desk and chair. The bed was very comfortable too and the bathroom spacious with a bath and separate shower. Plenty of towels and good toiletries provided. Our only complaint was the Yummy Cafe, the only place to get a meal in the hotel, as the restaurant was closed (for refurbishment?). The menu was good but tables were not prepared for dinner and food arrived before the places were set for a meal. Staff were more concerned to set tables for breakfast than look after us. As only 2 others were eating, we can only assume everyone else knew somewhere better to go. We were disappointed but more so when the bill had 15% service charge added to it. Our breakfasts were included in our stay and an early breakfast by 9am offered a good choice of hot and cold foods but later this was not replenished (10am)and after a lie in we had a poor meal. The hotel offers value for bed and early breakfast. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful and spoke some English.

Nice hotel in good location. Room was clean and simple. No in room USBs, but had a retractable washing line over the bath which was very handy.
Breakfast was a bit of a free for all trying to obtain a table, but there was a good selection of food.
Lobby area was very nice with a nice bar and even a little gift shop.

This hotel is in a good central location for walking around xi'an. The lobby that meets you when you walk into this hotel is very elegant. Our room was on the 10th floor which offered great views over the city. The room was a good size, although the decor and furniture was a little out-dated. The bathroom was clean and tidy but had ground in mould around the sink and on the shower curtain. We stayed only 1 night here and ate in the western style restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. It was a buffet restaurant and had a good selection of dishes. If I were travelling to Xi'an again I would stay here.

We enjoyed our stay here in February 2006. We were here for 2 nights. The location is AMAZING. Right on the main street and we ate there and shopped there when we weren't doing the touristy sites. It is important in Xian to have a hotel in a good location because the traffic is horrendous in Xian.

Rooms were decent and clean and about on par with a 3 star hotel. There is internet access in the business centre but nothing in the rooms :(

Breakfast was in a small cheesy room on the main floor. With Mexican decorations. Although the breakfast was smallish compared to the usual Asian hotel breakfast feast, the food was of very good, fresh quality and we enjoyed it a lot. Cheerful service in that room. Great fried rice. Anyways, I digress....

We loved just being able to leave our hotel and all the retail was there. Restaurants around the drum tower were great. We ate at a dumpling restaurant one night for dinner and another night in a food court sort of place. Very cheap.

Definitely would stay here again.

The Grand Noble lives up to its ostentatious name and does it at a pretty decent price. The hotel rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. The staff is very attentive and friendly. There are several English speakers on site. The room includes a great Western or Asian style buffet breakfast. Be adventurous and try both. It is easy and risk free to do at the hotel's abundant buffet. Beds are quite hard. That's par for the course in China. Lots of street noise, so earplugs are recommended. That's pretty standard in any big Chinese city. Great free wifi in the hotel first floor bar and in the lobby, but not in the rooms.

The city itself is just plain dirty and smoggy. Dust and grime everywhere. They're constantly wetting down the streets. The hotel is in a dirty area, on the edge of respectable neighborhoods and newer commercial development. There are many close shopping malls and restaurants. There are three KFCs, two McDonald's, a Burger King and Dairy Queen within a mile or so around the hotel (but why not try the local food?).

The air quality here is beyond atrocious. This is a highly industrialized city with 8,000,000 plus residents and lots of cars and trucks. Bring a mask if you have any issues with dust or pollution. There is not much to see in Xian beyond the Wild Goose Pagoda and the Terra cotta Soldiers (located 45 minutes outside the city). The old city walls, Bell Tower, Drum Tower and moat are worth a drive-by. You'll soon see that most major cities in China have at least one drum tower and one bell tower (anciently used to announce the time) and most cities have ancient walls and even moats. If you can get past the air quality, there are a couple of nice parks and public squares, particularly near the large Wild Goose Pagoda.

Great location. Only 10 minute walk from the Airporter bus stop (which does run in the evenings now and is only 25RMB from the airport.)

The Bell and Drum towers and Muslim market place are only minutes away from the hotel, yet the hotel is away from the noise and beggars that plague the most central hotels. Able to walk to all the centre sights and shops easily.

The lobby was elegant with bell service. There is a great coffee and tea service area off the lobby, not inexspensive but very nice . Rooms were a good size, very clean and the bed was soft with great linens, nice extras in each room too. Small mini bar and excellent room service. Front desk were efficient able to speak English very well. The room came with computer and internet access!

Never made it to the buffet restaurant, enjoyed eating down the street at the local food court that was a fraction of the hotel dining room, but beware the pickpockets here.

Booked with Sino hotels who beat the room rate substantially. I will stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location for exploring Xi’an and near to plenty of restaurants to satisfy most appetites.
The rooms are nicely furnished with comfortable beds. We had a room on the 10th floor so had nice views out across the city.
The breakfast service was very busy on our first day with people getting up to see the Terracotta warriors. The layout of the breakfast stations seemed poor and there was no flow. The second day we headed down much later and the choice was minimal. It looked as if nothing had been replenished for a while. Considering there was over 40 minutes of service left I’d have expected more choice.
The public areas of the hotel look recently decorated and it gives it a more luxury feel.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and I’d recommend this hotel if you were looking to visit Xi’an.

My two siblings and I spent the weekend here and it’s been great. We arrived very late Thursday night and although no one helped us with our bags, checking in was a breeze. They had a cot set up already for us so we could just walk in and go to sleep.

Most important thing I want to note is they offer drivers/cars for the day!! When we checked in he told us they offer tours to the terracotta warriors and other sites around the city. We rented a car and driver for the day for 600cny to take us to the Terracotta Army, and a few other museums along the way. The driver was very good and literally just waited in the car while we walked around the sights. We began at 8:30 and at 5:30 (or if you’re done sooner) he takes you back to the hotel :). I highly recommend this instead of hiring a taxi or trying the transit system. Since it’s so far I found it so convenient that he picked us up and dropped us off all from the hotel.

One last thing, I’ve only spoken to one man this whole weekend, as not many people can speak English. Even our driver had to call this man, to translate what we were saying. everyone is very friendly though!

I found this hotel really good for my visit to Xian. There was no smoking in the hotel that I noticed which I loved as this was hard at previous hotels in China where the smoke smell ended up through all my clothes in my suitcase.
Breakfast buffet was lovely and the hotel itself had a welcoming feel in the grand lobby.
Rooms were average size, nice bathroom although it was an average size as well. Clean and modern feel to them.
Walking distance to shops and restaurants. I highly recommend staying here if you are going to Xian.

The Terracotta Army is about 1 hour or so by bus. We did our whole trip as a tour. I am not sure of the cost but I believe it is around 50 aus I think. Go and see it it is fantastic and incredible. We have traveled the world and this and the great wall blew everything we have been to out of the water. Hope it helps.
