This is a classic older hotel, but that has kept up with maintenance and the modern amenities. A bit of a language issue for English speakers, but the staff is friendly and will do their all to assist you. Comfortable bedding and well-appointed rooms. Like other reviewers have mentioned, I also arrived late, and appreciated that the restaurant served food... More

This is not on most peoples radar when traveling, but we had to go there, just cause...had a great time, fun people and loads of little walks and museums to see. The best was an old house set up as a museum and it was fun. We also went to a puppet show that is really for children, but had... More

On my way to Volgograd, entering it from the South - and in search of a suitable hotel - I passed a few on my way, but decided to continue towards the centre and find something there. I must say that I didn't regret that! Hotel Intourist is centrally located at the grand place in the city centre, just opposite... More

I was blown away on the look and feel of this hotel. Looks 5 star to me. Grand reception, marble, columns, big stair cases, high ceilings, elegant decoration and ornamental light fittings. From corridors to the room, this place looks class. Immaculate room and comfy bed. Air con unit seemed pretty useless in the extreme heat I had while here... More

It is a decent hotel, well located with good restaurants 1 block away. Rooms are simple but well equipped. Free-wifi along the whole hotel. The breakfast is the downside of this hotel. Although nobody spoke English everybody was attentive and helpful.

Stayed two nights here and had a very good experience! The hotel is quite dated, but at the same time you can imagine how this was a very stylish and posh hotel 40 years ago. Anyway; the staff are super friendly and speaks good english, it's very clean and the free in-room WIFI is good. I was also happy with... More

Perhaps that title is a little critical. First, let me say that the staff are supper helpful and kind. They met us at the front door using our names. How they knew who we were without checking in I do not know. But that is how they are. Helpful, friendly, and dedicated to your service. Now, that is an Intourist... More

A bare and rather bleak lobby, but with friendly and helpful staff who did their best to speed the Russian bureaucracy. Room was on the small side, with a narrow very hard single bed, air conditioning that sounded like a tractor and very thin curtains that don't keep the light out. The shower required climbing equipment to step up into... More

We stayed for leisure, a July visit in the heat of summer. Apparently June is the month for mosquitoes and midges. The hotel is across the square from the Volgograd Hotel and bang in the middle of the city. The rooms are clean, acceptable although a week there may be trying. The breakfast is below par and I would say... More

Ok, so I stayed there several years in a row about 9 years ago. At least then, coming from Los Angeles, I was impressed with the hotel. It was very quiet, clean, elegant in some respects, and the service in the lobby was very good. The rooms were very clean, there was security on every floor, and most employees spoke... More
