The room was reasonably comfortable. It was nice having a water cooler on the floor so we weren't constantly buying bottled water. Be careful which room you book, we thought we had booked one with air conditioning and it didn't have an air conditioner. It overlooked the train station so it was pretty loud for keeping the windows open. We only ate breakfast 1/3 mornings, it was ok but not tons of choice. It was pretty inexpensive even during the world cup, which made it good value.

We stayed here for one night. Rooms were decent and clean. Staff for courteous and helpful. Close to many restaurants and 10 minutes walk from Kazan Kremlin. Worth the money. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay.

The hotel is conveniently located between the mail railway station and the Old Town (Kreml = fortress). The rooms are small, but clean, the reception is friendly. The breakfast is rather poor, no eggs.

The best thing I can say about this hotel is its location. Its not far from the train station, sporting facilities and an easy walk to the Kremlin. If your only looking for a bed for the night the hotel will be fine, but more than that be careful if coming here that you know what your getting. The rooms are very basic indeed. I had an upgraded room and the facilities were still poor, everything worked but only just. The breakfast which was included in the room rate can be a problem. If you arrive early then everything maybe available but whatever you do, don't turn up late as I did on one day because your likely to find most things gone. When we complained the breakfast lady said "we just had 60 children this morning and they eat everything". "so" I replied "that's not my problem but yours, where's my breakfast" at which point she just shrugged her shoulders and walked off. So I complained about the lack of breakfast to the reception desk to be told "I only work on reception, the restaurant is not my responsibility, talk to them". At which point as I didn't want the only things available for breakfast which were; cold Spaghetti, dried curling cheese, or a cabbage based offering, I left and walked to the local supermarket close by where I bought some yogurt and a few other bits. I've travelled a lot over the years in Russia, and I thought this type of old soviet style "don't give a dam" attitude had disappeared but oh no. It's live and well in the Volga Hotel. My recommendation would be don't come here, there are much better hotels, I found out later, close by so go there. If however you want a cheap hotel and are happy to experience basic rooms and can ignore the rude staff with a don't care attitude, then maybe this is the place for you.

Very affordable option in fairly good location between railway station and Kreml. Rooms are small but clean with decent beds. Lack of air conditioning makes it a bit hot in summer. Breakfast is russian style with cabbage and buckwheat on offer among more usual boiled eggs and breads.
