The hotel location is so good, it’s hard to imagine it being better. The famous Iisaaki cathedral is seen from the window, as well as famous spike of Admiralteistvo (the Navy Headquarters). Just a short walking distance from Smolni palace - the location of current Hermitage gallery, Nevski prospect, Senate square etc. Not far from Nabokov house - the place the famous writer was born. The hotel entrance is impressive, representing the before revolution period of Russia, City palace. Procedures are optimized, reception is good. The only minus is the luggage service: they have to wait until guests are placed to know who’s bad where to go. Instead they are in a hurry to load everything and even use the lift before the guest eyes, to lift up the bags without having keys or knowing which piece where to go. And then to knock every door to know “if this is yours..” The rooms are gorgeous, with nice bathrooms, comfortable night dresses and complimentary desserts. Then another minus is the breakfast: not only that is starts at 7 am (which is way too late for those, pretending to get to know the city), but also a very principal position to open exactly at 7:00, even seen guests inside and in a hurry, and being there. One more point is to be given a bill to sign, with breakfast included. Explaining that as “no, you do not pay, it is just that we need to know which rooms are there”.. guys, it’s not your guests issue to help you to know that! It is your job to know and to arrange that! In these days, technology allows to do it even without any paperwork. Taking into account the COVID-19 need to have as limited contact with equipment as possible. Apart, it’s all really good!

We were a few people going for Afternoon tea. At first the service was good, we got what we ordered very quickly. But with a party of 7, and the quite hig price we thought at least we got a piece each but no. 7 people should share 3 salmon sandwiches. No offer on refill. And the worst part was that we couldn’t get contact with the waiters. They were standing chatting with eachoter and ignoring us. For 15-20 minutes we were sitting waiting, hungry, for more tea and sandwiches. Finally when we got contact I started asking about the scones (that was offered on the homepage menu) but no, there was a new menu so no scones (on afternoon tea?!) And, the price was not 2150 rubel, it was 2900 rubel. What a joke. So less food and higher price. The poor waitress was doing her best to excuse everything and running to the manager that clearly didn’t wanna talk to us. In the end we got “compensated” with one more tray and more tea and a big discount on the price.... but still... so disappointed on the service and most of all, attitude of the manager. Thought this is a five star hotel but it was our worst experience on our week in St Petersburg.

I stayed alone for 3 days and it was nice. Clean room, informative reception lady. I'll come back for sure. Also nice place to take a walk around the hotel when you need to relax. The only thing I want to complicate is traffic jams in Saint P

Great classical first class hotel with old fashion style and quality of service. As a frequfnt Resorttrotter and a quite demanding one there is nothing not satisfactory about this hotel. Staff, service, room, restaurant, bar and spa are topnitch! If I should be forced to say something negative at all it would be that despite lovely breakfast buffet and service the egg benedict was not the bedt I have had (and thfn you understand that there is very little to complain about)!
