This hotel is a boutique hotel located in a quiet but well kept residential area near a beautiful river. It appears that it was once a mansion which has been recently renovated. Our room, Number 1, located just behind the reception desk, was very large (about 50 m2) and attractive. It had a large bed in a separate bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room where our son slept and a large bathroom with shower. Wifi was free and we were very comfortable there. In the basement of hotel was a very beautiful spa area, with a large swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath. It was in excellent condition and free for guests to use. One staff member spoke fluent English, the other staff member spoke limited English, but we were able to (barely) communicate. The area around the hotel was lovely but a bit isolated. For one meal we walked about 10 minutes to the Croissant Cafe which we can enthusiastically recommend, and for another meal we walked about 5 minutes to the Prichal restaurant which we can not recommend (see our review in TripAdvisor). You order breakfast from a list of 6 items (omelet, pancake, fried eggs, etc) the night before. But on every table are plates of cheeses, breads, cold cuts, etc. Juices, coffee, cappuccino, tea are included and brought to order. If you are with kids, check out the fun amusement park, located just past the Prichal restaurant, with the upside down house, a ferris wheel and other fun attractions. Entrance is free you pay only for the attractions that you visit. Also along the way to the Croissant Cafe we found a small playground which our 6 year old enjoyed. Because of the swimming pool, amusement park and the large room, I would definitely recommend the hotel to families with kids, however, only for short stays. Because it is a quiet area, you might feel a bit isolated here. We will likely return to Kaliningrad next year and if we do, we will spend at least one day at the Oberteich Lux Hotel.

We came to Kaliningrad to spend there November holidays. Oberteich was chosen as we had stayed there before. However that was a bad choice as we even couldn't expect such awful services. The first thing we were disappointed was the room, it was dirty!!! There were no toilet paper, the bathroom was uncleaned, the fridge was like a wastebasket (unfortunately we can't publish pictures to show). Wifi didn't work in our room for 3 days, we asked several times to resolve the problem, only one initiative was done, the staff restarted wifi with hope of solving that issue, nothing else was done, they couldn't give any explanation when that would be fixed. Breakfast is "fantastic", staff explains that's personal and is serviced for every guest. There is no choice at all, you get 3 pieces of cucumbers, one sliced tomato, 4 pieces of bread and one plate of your choice (porridge, eggs). Swimming pool, jacuzzi, hammam are dirty. We went there every day and every day we saw the same dust on the same places. Staff. They asked us when we were checking out, that was weird! Don't recommend! Poor quality for high price!
