This place could be nice, because it's well located and staff is very helpful BUT 1. dorm room doesn't have enough space for backpack, toilets are small and during our stay there were many Korean girls who chose to wash hair, socks and underwear in the bathroom sink. So toilets were very dirty and uncomfortable,

Hi everybody! We traveled from Irkutksk to Vladivostok by train and booked Hostel Izba for 2 nights in April 2018. Pros: - Very close to the central railway station, bus station and just city's center. - Comfortable beds - Huge kitchen with all stuff in it - Friendly and helpfull staff - Wide corridors - Clean - Big TV set in the Kitchen (Yes, you can watch your movies there) Cons: - Long stairway at the entrance (For all who travells with huge bags it is a one tiny episode of discofort) Overall, IZBA is a great place to stay in Vladivostok!

Easy to find from the ferry terminal feom Kores or train station for the Trans Siberian express (same location) this hostel is really very good. As soon as you walk through the door you can tell it is class. Special thanks to Julia who checked me in, her English is excellent and she really has enthusiasm for her home city. Dorms are very clean with comfy beds and privacy curtains. Never have to queue for a hot shower and body wash provided. You can use the kitchen to prepare your own meals if you wish and loads of fridge space. Nice setter to watch TV and common area is very sociable. If you are just passing through the city you should consider it. They do have double rooms too for couples or those wanting more privacy

We booked 2 beds in the hostel 10 days in advance. We also stated that we were coming by train. We had just come off a 3 day train ride (without internet), when we arrived at Izba to be told that they had overbooked and that there was no room. They had sent an email the day before informing us, however as we were on the train without internet we didn't receive it. Despite the hostel receiving an automated response from my email account, stating that I was offline, they proceeded to cancel our booking and check us in elsewhere. We were quite disappointed as we researched the hostel and it had excellent reviews and on seeing it, it looked very nice inside. We were told we were booked into a sister hostel, Optimum, nearby. We were assured that it was of the same standard, and also that we were getting a special discount. This turned out not to be true. The hostel we were moved to was clearly of a lesser standard. Much smaller and older, not clean and uncomfortable. Also the 'discount' was simply the standard lower price of the lesser hostel. Although the Izba hostel looked quiet nice, the way the staff treated us was very poor and not good business.

Newly furnished, clean, comfortable and relaxed hostel in central Vladivostok. The receptionists were friendly and helpful and there was free tea. One note is that it's actually around the corner of the road it's listed on. Well worth the price.
