Firstly, we notified the manager that we would be arriving early, and we received a reply saying that this was fine and that the rooms would be ready for us. We got there, and the housekeeper let us in and told us to wait in the damp and smelly kitchen as the manager was still sleeping. We waited for 2...

Although we paid a deposit when we arrived all they had left was a more expensive room. We chose the hostel for the free Wi-Fi but the manager told us he couldn't give us the password until the next day (24 hr reception advertised). We were unable to use the 1, slow computer after waiting ~5hrs. The advertised common room...

even if the building is really old, even if the rooms are small and beds uncomfortable, I would definitily come back, this place is funny, typical russian apartment ( kind of a "komunalka") , you're free to do what you like, the staff is nice, you have the keys and can come back whenever you want. nice place.

We stayed here for only 2 nights and the only thing I can say is - thank god it was only for 2 nights! I really don't know where to start by criticising this hostel. Staying in Arbat

Neighbourhood Profile
Crowds of tourists, both local and international take in Old Arbat and its modern and gigantic peer – New Arbat. One reason visitors keep coming is no doubt Konstantin Melnikov’s famous private house, now open to the public and worthy of a visit. After exploring one of the oldest parts of Moscow, avoid the crowds and turn to the side streets and boulevards where calmness and affordable food is plentiful.
