I have just returned from an organised tour trip to Russia. The tour included a 3 night stay at the Cosmos. This hotel is situated a bit of a distance from the Tourist Attractions, therefore much time was spent travelling, in constant traffic jams, to see the various sights. It is an extremely large hotel which makes it a bit...

Stayed at hotel Cosmos, not a 5* hotel, rating says a solid 3*, my personal opinion a solid -3*. The staff at the hotel is rude and totally not helpful. We stayed there during the Hockey World Championship. A lot of foreign stayed there. Some of the times staff spoke English, some of the times pretended they do not understand...

Large modern hotel, seemingly French-owned (big statue of De Gaulle in front), located some distance from central Moscow (thus requiring expensive taxis or use of nearby Metro at 70c a ride if you know a bit of Russian or have a Russian-speaking escort). Hotel personnel very efficient and knowledgeable. Room very good and excellent full breakfast served.

I stayed in the Hotel Cosmos in April 2007 as part of a group of 11. We paid for our rooms in advance so when we arrived at the hotel at 4 in the morning we were weary and looking forward to seeing our beds. Imagine our dismay when the reception staff told us our rooms were not available!! They...

11 Irish set forth to sample modern Russia Our trip started with an arrival at the hotel at 4 oclock in the morning. As we knew the time we were arriving we called and made sure there would be no problem checking in (we paid for the room for the early arrival night). We arrived to be told that our...

This place is huge. Built for 1980 Moscow Olympics, French connections. Statue of General de Gaulle out front with the biggest nose in humankind. The foyer is like a Railway Station. Stayed for 10 nights in June 2001, tourist, and again for 5 nights, June 2006. Basic single, on the 22nd floor. Great views of the district. Rooms are basic,...

After reading some mixed reviews I was unsure quite what to expect from the Cosmos but found the hotel to be pleasant and good value. The hotel was located next to the All-Russian Exhibition Centre which I found one of the most interesting sights in Moscow. My room (on the 21st floor) was quite comfortable for the duration of a...

I stayed at this huge hotel for two nights and paid $135 per night for a single room. Room was bit outdated more like a 3 star hotel rather than a 4 star hotel however was clean. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of varieties and has a hot omlett station. Hotel caters to large tour groups so becomes very...

The Cosmos ROCKS! exactly what i wanted from a moscow hotel, vast, grey and slightly intimidating. the polystyrene galaxy in reception hangs over guests like a sword of damocles. Check it out. Would recommend heading out of the hotel and into the subway, this is where moscow's kids party - great atmosphere. The park opposite has the scariest big wheel...
